Courses ranging from Romanian to English to Japanese to Arabic, language training is offered in a variety of different formats and for a range of different purposes. Courses are offered for: business and professional purposes, general purposes, holidays or living abroad, exam preparation

General Romanian Courses
ECHO defines the language achievement in three levels from Beginner towards Intermediate up to Advanced level but they can be continued by professional courses. For each of the modules, we recommend 35 sessions of 1.5 hours each. The General Romanian courses are a mixture of grammar, vocabulary, exercises, conversation, listening and the trainer pays attention to the special needs of the student and emphasises those problems that are not very clear along the course.

General Romanian Courses - Elementary
This course addresses to those people who never learnt the language or have very vague and unclear knowledge. Along the sessions of this very first level, the student will acquire the vocabulary of the following situations:

ways of addressing and of greeting; asking simple questions; ordering food and drink; telling the time, the date; asking directions; talking about "I and my family"; talking about leisure and hobbies; talking about body and its parts; talking about your house

From a grammatical point of view, there will be covered the following:

the noun; the singular and the plural; the gender of nouns; the definite and indefinite articles; the adjectives; the four types of adjectives "this and that"; the verb; the present tense and its uses; the past tense and its uses; the interogatives; "Cine?", "Ce?", "Cand?", "Unde?", "Cum?", "De ce?"; the negatives "nimeni", "nimic" and its uses; the possession; the possessive pronouns and the possessive adjectives; short description of the word order in a Romanian sentence

At the end of this course, the student will be able to read simple and short texts, to write simple phrases, to be able to communicate in easy situations.

General Romanian Courses - Intermediate
This course addresses to those persons who have acquired the knowledge of the beginner level or who can generate thier own contents by using the notions of the Beginner Level. In the very beginning of the course, the trainer will proceed to revise all the topics discussed in the first level and to emphasise the difficulties that occured while repeating everything.

The vocabulary will include topics like:
Imaginary Guide in Romania - a presentation of the three regions - Moldavia, Wallachia and Transylvania; Meetings and appointments; Giving and exchanging personal details; Cafes, shops, hotels, banks, transport; Introducing oneself and the company; Simple business letters; Face-to-face negotiations; Apologising and refusing; Complaining about different things

The grammar will include topics like:
the Cases of the Noun - Nominative/Acusative and Genitive/Dative; the Degrees of Comparison of the Adjectives; the ordinal Numbers; the Future Tense - two ways expressing the future in Romanian; the Subjonctives Mood - Connecting Sentences in Romanian: "Eu vreau să...", "Ştiu că...", "Crede că..."

At the end of this course, you will be able to enter into higher degree conversations with much more interactivity from your side, you will be able to easily follow conversations, to write texts with a higher degree of difficulty.

General Romanian Courses - Advanced
This course addresses to students having rich vocabulary and quite strong grammar knowledge; it may address to the people having learnt and accumulated the knowledge of the first two modules or to people mastering the things and problems discussed in the previous two modules.

The vocabulary will include conversations with higher degree of complexity on the following themes:

What job would you like to do? What would you like to do at your job?; Negotiation, Qualities of a Good Negotiator; Understanding document like newspapers, business communications or guide books; Customs and etiquette; Movies and favourite movies - Qualities of a good director - Speaking about Romanian movies!; Christmas in Romania; Vlad Ţepeş and his legend

From a grammatical point of view, this module will include a revision of the grammar problems tackled in the first two modules, applying them in exercises: the Conditional Mood; the Imperative Forms - Subjonctive used as an Imperative; Prepositions characteristic for each of the cases; Adverbials (of time, of place, of manner); Conjunctions (şi, dar, dacă, că, să); Words of indefinite quantity (cât, atât, câtva); Indirect Speech

At the end of this course, the student will be able to express himself/herself in more difficult situations, to follow complex conversations, to read and understand difficult texts but not lastly to self-correct.

Romanian Courses for Specific Purposes
After having reached a quite good level of awareness of the language, we reccomend our students to continue their language courses in specialising their language by undertaking specialisation courses in the areas they are interested or in the domains they activate. How do these courses differ from the general ones?

"Romanian for Specific Purposes" is a course that concentrates more on the specialised vocabulary, with emphasis on different case studies, on different situations, less on the grammar structures and problems. Courses will be built around the business, medical or technical vocabulary and there will be a lot of scenarios of business meetings, business reports, of medical reports depending very much on the course that you enroll in.

Business Romanian
This module addresses to business men, people or students wishing to enrich their business vocabulary.

At the end of this course, students will have a better understanding of:

- typical language for meetings, business meetings, letters, faxes, addressing formulas
- credits, credit facilities developing stock exchange markets
- the motivation of a business
- negotiation techniques
- drawing up a business letter
- managing a business, types of management
- taking decisions in a business environment

Finance Accountancy Romanian
This course addresses to the people activating in the financial-accountancy field.

At the end of this course, students will better master the following terms:

- depreciation and appreciation
- cash register
- provisions and budget
- balance sheet
- bank norms
- assets and liabilities
- tangible and intangible assets
 
Medical Romanian

The "Medical Romanian" course addresses to people working in the medical and pharmaceutical fields.

At the end, people having studied these matters, will be able to express:

- names of the organs of the body
- names of some diagnoses/illness in Romanian
- modalities of drawing up a medical report
- medical journals will be easily read
- explanation of some abbreviations
- explanations of different medical opinions

Legal Romanian

"Legal Romanian" is a course addressing to people active in this field and who are interested to specialise their language in the following:

- commercial law and trading companies intellectual property
- litigation and arbitration
- real estate property law
- contracts, parties of the contract, breaching and respecting a contract, types of a contract
- power of attorney, proxy
- limitted liability, liability
