The main objective of each Russian language programme at Derzhavin Institute (St.-Petersburg, Russia) is to enable students to realize their full language potential by creating challenging and engaging classroom environment. Russian Language lessons are held in dynamic, innovative classes with a maximum of 10 students per group (an average size although is 5). There is an emphasis on the learning and use of real, colloquial Russian language. The students studying Russian Language at Derzhavin Institute are divided into groups according to the level of Russian language proficiency. 10 carefully graded language levels which are distinguished at the Russian Language School - from beginner to advanced – allow for the accurate placement in groups.

Derzhavin Institute provides a variety of Russian language courses in St.-Petersburg - long term and short term Russian language programmes, intensive and individual tuition - for foreign students of all levels of language proficiency and backgrounds. Now the students from Sweden who are taking a long-term course (13 weeks+) and are booking through agents can apply the CSN for the scholarship.

Weekly social programme, which is offered for students studying Russian language at Derzhavin Institute, has something for all students of all ages. On the first day of classes students receive an informational folder including a list of social activities for the coming week with dates and prices if any. There are visits to museums, tours in and around St.-Petersburg, parties, walks, theatre trips. Taking the students out of regular classes these activities enable them to practice Russian language in social settings and real life situations and gain an in-depth understanding of Russian language through cultural traditions. We take great care in choosing and monitoring the accommodations we provide. Lodgings are available to students from the Sunday before the beginning of the course until the Saturday after the course.
