Logo of St. Hugh's School St. Hugh's School:
Located in Farington, 18 miles southwest of Oxford in Oxfordshire, Southeast England, St. Hugh's School is a preparatory, day and boarding school for boys and girls aged 4 to 13 years. Boarding is available to children in Year 3 (7-8 yearsold) upwards. At St Hugh's we are committed to children's broader personal development as well as their preparation for scholarship and common entrance examinations to senior independent schools. St. Hugh's is a co-educational preparatory school with a clear sense of purpose: to give our pupils a secure educational foundation and the confidence to be adaptable and independent as they prepare for life beyond the school.

We aim to give our students the opportunity to develop their own interests and talents, while learning to work and play together and contribute to their community. At the age of 13 our pupils go on to a wide variety of senior schools, both boarding and day, coeducational and single sex. Academically, we are non-selective, but very successful with an excellent record in both CE and Scholarship. In the last 5 years 68 scholarships have been won by our pupils. Academic awards have been matched by others for art, DT, drama, music, sport and all-round strengths and leadership qualities.

Boarding:
Boarding is available to children in Year 3 (7-8 yearsold) upwards. At St Hugh’s boarding flourishes, embracing the different boarding needs of parents and pupils alike. At St. Hugh´s you can choose between weekly (excluding weekends), regular or occasional boarding.

At the core of our boarding remains our weekly boarders who benefit immensely from living together within a friendly and well supported community.

In addition to this pupils may choose to do a regular boarding slot either one, two, three or four nights a week. This method of boarding is very useful for pupils to ‘get used’ to boarding on a regular basis before weekly boarding.

We also offer pupils the opportunity to book an occasional night when necessary and it is very reassuring for parents to know that when unexpected work commitments or emergencies occur, their children can be looked after in an enjoyable and well known environment.

Our primary aim in boarding is ‘ to provide each child with an environment in which he / she can flourish, develop and fulfil their potential whilst staying away from home’.
