ALFMED is a French language academy offering foreign students a unique experience of learning French in privileged surroundings and complete cultural immersion.
Location and Facilities:
Located in the center of the city of Perpignan, very close to the railway station - the « center of the World » according to the famous painter Salvador Dali -, the premises of the Academy occupy a mansion from the beginning of the last century that was renovated in order to offer students all facilities of a modern school, the accommodation is very close by.
Bright and comfortable class rooms, a friendly library full of books and newspapers at students’ entire disposal, a computer science and languages laboratory composed of 9 IBM PCs with Broad band Internet connection, laser and inkjet color printers, all on free access, a multimedia center with camcorder, big screen TV, DVD player, a café open at all times, and a charming garden to sit and relax in.
A trilingual administrative staff, always available, supervise students in all their activities and during various stages of their stay.
All of our teachers’ mother tongue is French and they are holders of university diplomas FLE (Français Langue Etrangère [French as a Foreign Language]). They take active part in all stages of the learning, as far as courses are concerned, of course, in order to improve the performance of each student irrespective of his or her level, but also in accompanying students throughout their stay at our Academy in Perpignan.
Individual or shared lodging, organized visits, immersion week-end in a French family, all practical details are covered by the Academy in order to allow the student to concentrate on the objective of his or her stay: to learn the French language and absorb French culture.
