Welcome to Ábaco, a Spanish Language Institute offering Spanish Courses for all levels and Spanish certification exam preparation. We are located in the beautiful city of Salamanca in western Spain. Our courses combine education, culture, exciting trips and mind-expanding experiences, the perfect combination for the language traveller. Some of our students come as private individuals while others are sent by universities, language schools, companies and even embassies. One of our proudest achievements is that more than 80% of our students come to Ábaco because former students, friends or colleagues have recommended us. The institute is located 10 mins walking from to the campus, just 3 mins from the Cathedral and 5 mins from the Plaza Mayor. It has a library with Spanish learning and teaching materials, not only for grammar but also with specific material such as D.E.L.E. preparation, business Spainsh, legal Spanish etc which serve as classroom assistance.

Without any doubt, this is the best combination: to take a professional language course and at the same time experience real Spanish life. In no time at all you will be picking up common expressions and idiomatic phrases.
We are completely convinced that you will feel very much at home and you will enjoy a relaxed atmosphere with the independence of having your own key.
Also, we guarantee your home will be no more than a 20-minute walk away from the Institute.
Our staff personally interview all the families before placing students in their homes. All students fill out a questionnaire before leaving their countries, so that we can match them with a family and a roommate - if required - with whom we think they will be compatible. Our families accommodating students do not run this scheme just like a family business; they have a personal interest in intercultural contact, and you will be accepted and treated as a family member. The word "family" should not be taken too literally, because your family could also be just a single parent who takes in students because he or she enjoys the company.
We have collaborated with many of these families since the beginning without problems and we feel confident that the students will be satisfied. If a student encounters serious difficulties with his/her family, we will move him/her immediately.
You can select a single or a double room and you have a choice between full board, with three meals a day (breakfast, lunch and dinner), half board, with two meals a day (breakfast and lunch or dinner) or just breakfast.
You are allowed to move in your accommodation the day before the beginning of the course and you will have to move out move out the day after it has finished. If you will to stay longer you will have to contact our Accommodation Office. Washing and ironing services are not included in the price. This can be paid for either to the families or to the school.
