The Village International Education Centre, Bangkok:
The Village International Education Centre in Central Bangkok, Thailand offer full time and part time special education programmes for children and young adults who have specific learning, language, motor and behavioural / emotional difficulties.

The current age range of our students is between 5 - 20. They come from all over the world and have a wide range of special needs, all of which are catered for, thanks to a large team of specialists, which includes a qualified educational psychologist, speech therapist, a Thai occupational therapist, native English-speaking teachers qualified in special education needs, counsellors, a family therapist, learning support assistants, and specialists in drama, art, and early childhood.

As well as having both academic and highly creative programmes, The Village focuses on developing the students’ social and emotional skills. The school has the feel of a small community, where everyone knows and respects one another.

We also cater for high-dependency children, mainly with autism or Down Syndrome, where we teach life skills, the Makaton Communication System of sign language and PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System).

Our aim is to understand the learning style of each individual child and then make learning accessible to them. We focus on the strengths of the child and devise Individual Educational Programmes, which give everyone the opportunity to shine.

Our policy is to re-integrate children into mainstream education if at all possible. The adapted programmes we use at The Village are based on the English National Curriculum and, for the older students, the GED (General Education Development diploma). The GED diploma is an internationally recognised high-school leaving certificate.

Our Mission:
The Village Education Centre has been set up to help those children and young adults in need of alternative teaching. Focus on Individual Learning addresses the needs of each student on an individual basis, both academically and emotionally.

Our school caters for anyone who is struggling with academics and social interactions. We work closely with international main stream schools and parents. Small class sizes allow us to monitor closely and mentor each student.
