Located in Troy, Lincoln County, 76 miles northwest of Kalispell, in northwestern Montana, Turning Winds Academic Institute provides a structured environment as a good alternative to a boot camp or military school. Although we are not a summer camp we understand the power of the outdoors and spend a good amount of time in the outdoors with those who attend our program. Turning Winds Academic Institute is one of the most successful therapeutic boarding schools in our industry. We provide successful healing for all teens.
Turning Winds Academic Institute is a co-ed program which is fully accredited by The Northwest Association of Accredited Schools. The program accepts children between the ages of 12-18. Turning Winds Academic Institute, a specialty private boarding school, can accept enrollment for up to 50 students. The entire program averages approximately 12-months. By integrating outdoor activities with innovative therapeutic techniques, Turning Winds Academic Institute "provides structure and understanding for the adolescents." Staff members email parents weekly with pictures and updates on their child. Turning Winds Academic Institute believes families are an integral part of the changing process, and parents are able to actively participate along with their child in making the changes necessary for success. Parental participation can include, but are not limited to the following activities: parent work-shops, parent homework assignments and family counseling.
While at Turning Winds Academic Institute your son/daughter will go through three program phases; the orientation, transition, and aftercare phase.
