Columbia International College is an independent, non-sectarian, co-educational secondary school in Hamilton, southern Ontario. Founded in 1979, Columbia International College is the largest private international university-preparatory school in Canada, and offers a first class high school program with boarding facilities. High School Program (grades 9 -12):
At Columbia, we apply our ASEP assessment process to determine the student’s learning characteristics. Then our team of education experts will design a Personalized Success Plan (PSP) for each student.
Based on the academic component of the PSP, our team of education experts will guide the student on:
The number of courses to take each semester
The time needed to complete their entire academic program
The selection of courses to meet personal interests or career goals
The choices to aim for in post-secondary education
During the year, our team of education experts will follow closely the student’s academic performance. Based on the progress report, they will adjust the academic component of the student’s Personalized Success Plan (PSP) accordingly.
Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) Completion Requirements:
Students require the OSSD to enter universities or colleges in North America. The OSSD is granted to students who earn a minimum of 30 credits. To receive the OSSD, students must complete and/or earn:
* 18 compulsory and 12 optional credits
* 40 hours community involvement activities
* The provincial secondary school literacy test
AP Program:
The AP is a program of post-secondary level courses and examinations that provide Pre-University students with the opportunity to receive advanced placement and / or credits in Canadian and US universities

Accepted by all American universities
Pre-University Program:
Pre-U program is designed for admission to university in Canada, USA, Australia & UK. Students now studying in Form 5 /Sec. 4 / Senior Middle 3 / 'O' Level are eligible to apply.
7 month program (January or June intake) allows completion of 6 credits.
10 month program (August intake) allows completion of up to 8 credits.
'A' Level Students
are eligible to apply for the shorter 2 month Pre-U program (June intake) or the 5 month Pre-U program (August or January
intake).
