Intensive Academic English Program
You will study conversation, listening skills, grammar, vocabulary and writing. The Intensive English Program is made up of small & friendly classes. This ensures that you will have many opportunities to speak, ask questions, and have your mistakes corrected. Classes are very mixed, with students coming from all parts of the world. Meet students from a variety of cultures and countries, and make friends for life.
TOEFL/TOEIC preparation is available to students at the high intermediate and advanced levels. Spoken English is emphasized in all classes. You will learn grammar in context, by using it in speaking and writing. You will practice your grammar by doing exercises and written essays at home as well as practicing using the language in class.
All students are tested, interviewed and placed in the appropriate level class for each subject area. For example, if you do well with speaking, but need more help with grammar, your conversation class will be at a higher level than your grammar class.
The Intensive English Program is accelerated. This means that students may advance through the levels at any pace. You can move to the advanced level as quickly as possible, and you won't have to wait for the end of a term. You can start at a beginning level and graduate from the advanced level in just 6 months.
The Intensive English Program allows open entry and open exit. You can begin any Monday and finish anytime. Some students come to Colorado School of English to study for 2 weeks, others stay for a full year. Most students pay tuition every 4 weeks until they have reached their language goals.
TOEFL preparation
A high score on the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) is an essential step in being admitted to graduate or undergraduate programs at most U.S. colleges and universities. At CSE we use the latest technology to help students polish the language skills needed for the exam and generally make them smarter test takers.
Pre-TOEFL Preparation Course
Students review basic grammar, build vocabulary and develop reading and listening skills. Students also do some practice TOEFL tests.
Intermediate TOEFL Preparation Course
Students learn TOEFL test strategies while enhancing their reading, writing and grammar skills. Students also do practice TOEFL tests.
The Advanced TOEFL Preparation Course
Although the content is similar to Intermediate TOEFL, it is more advanced. Material studied in Intermediate TOEFL is not repeated in Advanced TOEFL.
Business English Program
Business English is English especially related to international trade. Many non-native English speakers study business English with the goal of doing business with the United States or other English-speaking countries, or with companies located in non-native English-speaking areas but nonetheless using English as a shared second language
Business English courses are designed to meet the needs of the individual Business professional. Courses are for those in business who have an overall understanding of English and who wish to specifically improve their English for their business purposes. Business courses help to improve overall business communication skills and business terminology.
