Learn Portuguese at Seattle Language Academy. Founded in September 1996, Seattle Language Academy became a not-for-profit organization, relocated to Fremont, and became fully accredited by the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools (NAAS). Come and enjoy learning about travel and tourism in Portuguese speaking countries, and music, television, and cuisine.

- Portuguese 101 -
In the course for beginners students are given information on Brazilian Portuguese for a variety of practical situations. At the end of the session, students will be able to introduce themselves and greet others, talk about daily routines, shopping and eating out.

- Portuguese 102 -
In this low-intermediate level students learn how to give physical and character descriptions, express emotions. Students explore topics such as apartment hunting, travel and tourism in Brazil, and Brazilian music, television, and cuisine.

- Portuguese 103 -
This lower-intermediate class introduces more uses of the imperfect tense and grammatical issues. The readings and dialogues focus on various aspects of Brazilian culture, including the role of technology, the Brazilian economy, and the social functions of music and poetry.

- Portuguese 104 -
In this class, students complete a systematic review of all indicative and subjunctive tenses. Discussions focus on the Brazilian carnival, sports in Brazilian culture, immigration, and the cultivation of coffee.

- Portuguese 201-204 -
For students who have a stable command of Portuguese. In-class activities such as role-plays improve the students´ reading and writing skills and helps deepen their awareness of Portuguese culture.

- Portuguese 300 -
A Conversation Class for advanced students who wish to become fluent.
