Audio Engineering & Music Production
This is a comprehensive one-year program that includes the subjects taught in audio engineering schools, recording schools and music production schools. Our intensive hands-on and theory training in music recording, audio engineering, live soundTechnical Colleges / Institutes, sound engineering, and digital audio work stations is taught in the classroom and in our state-of-the-art recording studios.

New music, beats, breaks, grooves, loops, sampling, and electronic music are all explored. Record production, Pro Tools, Reason, Logic and other audio engineering software, audio for video, live sound reinforcement, songwriting, recording studio design and an audio engineering practicum are among the many opportunities offered.

Audio Engineering & Production is a one-year, three-semester program consisting of 920 hours of hands-on and classroom instruction. The program includes 12 courses, with four courses taught per semester. Students may take advantage of 2250 hours of computer lab time, and over 900 hours of reserved studio time over and above their class hours. Students also have the option of applying for an internship at Blue Wave Studios.

Film & Digital Arts

Topics covered include film production, film making, digital film editing, screenwriting for film and TV, film directing, video production, film producing, film videography, film financing, cinematography, contracts & union law, film set and TV set skills, new media, film history, and more. In the film portion we discuss basic film making, film industry jobs, film promotion, film industry contracts, film financing, film history, film tradeshows and film festivals, film administration, film production, film production accounting etc. The music industry section studies record production, concert promotion, entertainment business skills, music industry contracts, artist development, artist management, music festivals, an introduction to the modern recording studio, music promotion and marketing and many other topics.

Home to internationally renowned developers like Electronic Arts, Disney, Radical Entertainment and Relic Software, B.C. has nearly 700 gaming companies with combined annual revenues in excess of $1 billion. The PAVI 'Game Design & 3D Animation' curriculum delivers an overview of the entire process for making a computer or video game. Students work both individually and in teams, learning the technical and creative skills and the project management and planning required to produce a modern computer game from start to finish.

Each semester includes one Location Class and two Guest Speakers. Each student works on an individual state-of-the-art classroom computer terminal loaded with all necessary software.
