TESL Diploma Program:
The Vancouver Career College TESL Diploma Program provides students with a thorough understanding of ESL teaching methods and develops practical teaching ability.  The TESL Diploma Program is recognized by TESL Canada and program graduates are eligible for the TESL Canada Professional Certificate Standard Two.

With a supervised TESL / TESOL practicum (internship) component, graduates gain "real classroom" work experience. Graduate may choose to apply for teach English as a second language in Canada or abroad. Our TESL program students learn how to teach ESL learners of different ages, backgrounds and purposes. Students learn how to create learner-centred lessons, manage classes and evaluate learners. Students will learn about the theory and practice of teaching the four language skills: reading, listening, speaking and writing. In learning to teach language skills students understand how to structure activities and lessons to maximize ESL students’ motivation and learning. Students will learn English language teaching terminology and study the historical evolution in language teaching.
