The Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA):
Our four-week full-time and 18-week part-time intensive initial teacher training courses lead to the award of the internationally recognised certificate. The Cambridge certificate is an essential first step in a career in TESOL. The qualification is an essential minimum requirement for teachers in a British Council accredited school. Successful participants will be able to use this qualification to teach in schools in the UK and overseas. Over 10,000 candidates complete a CELTA course each year.
Cambridge Diploma in English Language Teaching to Adults (DELTA):
Delta is a widely recognised qualification which helps you build better teaching practice and can lead to greater rewards and more career opportunities. It is now available as three separate modules, offering even greater flexibility and choice. We are pleased to announce that a 100% pass rate was achieved on our last Delta course.
Delta Module One:
- Understanding Language Skills for Teaching
This module looks at the theories behind how people learn languages and how they are taught
Delta Module Two:
- Developing Professional Practice
This module looks at the theory and practice of teaching and the different ways that environment, society and cultural affect the way that it works.
Delta Module Three:
Manchester Academy acts as a Cambridge ESOL examination centre only. One to One tutorials can be provided subject to tutor availability.
One-Day CELTA Taster:
This is a one-day (six hour) introductory course designed and delivered by experienced Academy teachers for trainees with or without teaching experience, who want a clearer idea of what the profession involves before committing themselves to a longer, more expensive certificate course. The day is full of practical tasks.
