IH Toronto is located in downtown Toronto. Only a few minutes walk from Yonge and Bloor, the school is close to many trendy shops, cafés, restaurants, cultural centres and attractions.
Location and Facilities:
Activities and excursions are a great way to learn about Canadian culture, make new friends and practice your English. As IH Toronto students, you will have the opportunity to experience many different activities, excursions and events each week. Our full-time Activity Coordinator is dedicated to making sure your stay in Toronto is enjoyable, fun and exciting. During the week, activities are arranged after classes and in the evenings. You can also purchase tickets for day trips such as Niagara Falls, Algonquin Park or skiing and snowboarding on weekends. Three and four day weekend trips are also arranged to Ottawa, Montreal and Quebec City, along with trips to New York City. There are also weekend Camping Adventures to some of the most breathtaking parks in the world.
Accommodation
Homestay Program: Many students choose homestays with a Toronto family to further increase their exposure to the English language and Canadian culture. Living in a homestay also provides you with the comforts and warmth of living in a kind and supportive family. Living in a homestay will allow you to practice your newly developed language skills with English speakers.
The IH Toronto Home Study Program means living at home with a carefully selected teacher. You will study English intensively each day. It's a faster and more effective method than classroom teaching. In addition to the English tutorials, you will play a part in home life, practicing your English from morning to night, joining in conversations at meal times and meeting people socially.
Other Accommodation: IH Toronto Student House - This is a large house with eight air-conditioned, fully furnished, private single rooms, a large fully equipped common kitchen, common bathrooms and showers. The house is equipped with hi-speed wireless internet access, a computer, a phone line, cable TV and a TV set in each room. The IH Student house also has a large patio and a backyard for everyone to enjoy throughout the summer season.
