Teaching House is a TESOL certification and teacher training school in New York City. Training about 500 teachers every year, Teaching House is the largest CELTA center in the USA. In accordance with CELTA standards, all Teaching House courses are run by trainers approved by the University of Cambridge.

Teaching House-Los Angeles is accredited by the University of Cambridge. As the official assessing body of the CELTA certification, Cambridge University ensures that the certificate and the course maintain the highest of standards in rigor, educational practices and up to date research on ESL theory and practice. CELTA graduates can be proud of the heritage of their certification.  

About Us:
Teaching House was set up as a school for excellence in CELTA teacher training for ESL teachers. Its two founders, Ryan Horsnail and Tasha Hacker, are both ESL teachers and teacher trainers with a large amount of experience in ESL teaching both in the U.S. and overseas. The combination of our high-quality course standards and the accreditation provided by the University of Cambridge ensures that our teachers go on to obtain desirable teaching jobs whether they choose to teach English in the United States or teach English abroad.

CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching for Adults) Course:

CELTA Trainers:
All CELTA trainers are highly experienced ESL teachers themselves, and have worked in many different countries. They all hold a CELTA and either the DELTA (Diploma in English Language Teaching to Adults) and / or a Master’s degree in Education.

- Surf City Hostel:  Steps away from the beach, Surf City Hostel is an exceptional accommodation option for CELTA trainees. Surf City Hostel is located in Hermosa Beach, a great area full of opportunities for beach volleyball, dining, and nightlife, and is a short 15-minute drive to the Teaching House Los Angeles center. The hostel can also be reached by public transportation in about 40 minutes.

Facilities:
The center is extremely will equipped with everything trainees will need on the course, such as wireless internet access, a computer lab, photocopying and printing facilities. Trainees can enjoy relaxing or studying on the sunny, private, outdoor patio. Located within The Village Del Amo Shopping Center, Teaching House Los Angeles is steps away from retail, dining, and cafes.

The teaching training rooms are clean, modern, well-lit with several large windows. They have palette chairs (chairs with attached writing tables), blackboards and/or chalkboards, over-head projectors, and media projectors. There is ample amount of parking near the center, which is also accessible by Torrance city buses. The center is minutes away from Santa Monica, Hermosa, and Redondo Beaches.
