Our online TESOL course is designed for those who wish to study and acquire a TESOL certification but can’t fit it into their regular schedule. Distance learning enables trainees to study in their own time with up to six months provided in which to finish the entire course. Studying for a New England TESOL Certificate is a suitable choice if you are one who prefers to work at your own pace without the pressure or inconvenience of a relatively more intense TESOL course. Module by module our trainees are patiently guided through one hundred and twenty hours of skill acquisition and professional development.

New England TESOL is professionally designed with the specific view toward augmenting teacher creativity as well as deepening one’s understanding and aptitude toward ESL teaching. With this end in mind we provide the practical tools as well as the appropriate certification as such. The course materials consist of standard textbooks, training from various specialists, public resources, and supplementary information comprising a ‘veritable canon’ of years of study, personal development and teacher advancement in the TESOL Industry.

New England TESOL certification aims to provide trainees with the knowledge, skills and techniques necessary to enable one to competently fulfill the role of an ESL language teacher. The curriculum thus emphasises flexibility in thought, tactfulness, patience and overall professionalism towards one’s work. Our trouble shooting section is larger than that of most TESOL courses, reflecting the many years of trainer experience. Bicultural education and cross cultural communication skills are a significant feature of this course.

Course Eligibility:
Trainees are required to have the minimum of a high school diploma, and therefore be of 18 years of age or older. Anyone younger than this, or without a high school diploma (or secondary education certificate equivalent), may still submit their application and contact New England TESOL administration for consideration.


Course Duration:
The distance course can be completed in as little as three weeks. (Only trainees with adequate study time on hand, as well as significant teaching experience, have accomplished this!) Generally, trainees work at their own pace and have up to six months in which to complete the course.

This course is as easy as 123. Once you register, and confirm that you have received your New England TESOL Trainee Package, you will be assigned an online teacher trainer. Unit to unit he will give you background information and feedback, so you can complete the tasks, and submit your work. If your online teacher trainer and or examiner deems that the work demonstrates beyond the doubt that you understand the subject, your trainer will email you back the grades and another assignment.

You can work at your own pace. How fast you hand in the work, varies from trainees to trainees. If you have any questions or need help, all you have to do is to log in during online office hours provided. You can also telephone but you may have to settle for an appointment. Emailing is probably the best form of communication.

In the year 2000, New England TESOL Institute started training teachers in China. Over the past eight years we have had courses in Beijing, Dalian, Nanchang, Shanghai, Wuhan, Taiyuan, Hangzhou, and Shenyang. From the summer of 2004 we established our permanent base in the lovely city of Qingdao (CBD area) where we have been training teachers and researching TESOL for around the past five years.
