Our TEFL / TESOL certification program in Barcelona is accredited by NCFE (Northern Council for Further Education), one of the leading accrediting bodies in the UK. Onsite TEFL / TESOL Certificate Program:
Our 4-week TEFL / TESOL certification course curriculum is part of the INTESOL network which has been around since 1993. The TEFL /  TESOL certification course in Barcelona is a very intensive, full-time course and requires a strong commitment by the student. One can expect to be in class for about eight hours a day along with a few hours of work at home. We recommend that trainees have no other personal or professional commitments outside the course during those four weeks of training.

Online TEFL / TESOL Certification Program:
Our 170-hour online TEFL TESOL course is a fully interactive course with 20 other students and taught by a seasoned university level professor. It takes approximately 11 weeks to complete and consists of 150 class hours and 20 hours of teaching practice which will be conducted at an ESL classroom in your town. It is the same curriculum, homework, Practicum and professional certification and accreditations used in our international onsite TEFL courses. 30-Hour Business Professional & Young Learner modules are available as optional add-ons to the main course for a total TEFL / TESOL certification of 200 hours.

Qualified & Experienced Teachers:
All International TEFL Academy instructors, for both online and onsite courses, are highly qualified and experienced. Your course director will be supported by a team of 2 - 4 trainers. They will be responsible for leading input sessions and observing and supporting you through teaching practice. Trainers are all qualified to at least Diploma level and with experience in teaching and teacher training.

Barcelona is located in the Catalonia region on the east coast of Spain. It is close by car or rail from a number of other cities, including Madrid, which is only six hours away by car and Valencia, which is only four hours away. Barcelona is a vibrant, cosmopolitan city that has something for everyone. It has great weather, four beautiful sandy beaches, world-renowned museums, interesting architecture, including Gaudi's distinctive buildings and an endless variety of bars and restaurants to suit all tastes.

Our TEFL School in Barcelona:
International TEFL Academy's partner school is located in the Eixample district of Barcelona, with a metro stop conveniently located nearby, as well as a bus service in the area. The area, like most of Barcelona, is both commercial and residential. There are a number of apartment buildings, shops, bars and restaurants that are conveniently located close to the school.

International TEFL Academy offers clean, affordable and fully serviced facilities in a number of locations throughout the city. We promise that we will do our best to accommodate your housing preferences and you can be assured that we regularly monitor the standard of the accommodation provided and encourage your feedback at the end of the course.

You will be housed in a clean, attractive, comfortable apartment, shared with two or three other students, either completing a TEFL course or studying other educational courses. Most of these apartments are in the "Eixample" area, the city’s main shopping and business district and near to the centre. There are plenty of reasonably priced places for food and this is a good place to be at night, as many of the city's trendy bars and restaurants are located here. The area is well served by both metro and bus services.

Should you wish for more luxurious up-town accommodation, with a quieter and more sophisticated ambiance, this can be arranged, albeit at extra cost.
