TITC courses have a very practical emphasis and deal primarily with the real skills and knowledge needed by teachers in the classroom.

Teachers are assessed on their understanding and practical application of the course content through teaching practice and the compilation of a teaching journal. These two are assessed separately but the final grade awarded amalgamates both sets of grades with a slight weighting towards teaching practice.  TITC are committed to supporting our students following graduation and through their teaching career by providing ongoing job guidance and support.  This includes access to online downloadable materials and lesson plans as well as online chat and teaching guidance.

As one of the fastest growing cities in Europe, Prague hosts a fantastic array of both classic and modern culture. Located at the center of Old Town at the heart of the city, the school is surrounded by an astounding variety of architecture dating back to the tenth century. Walking across the historic Old Town Square or along the winding cobblestone streets, one can take in artistic styles ranging from Baroque to Art Nouveau in immediate proximity to one another. The magnificent Church of Our Lady before Tyn and Old Town Hall are classic examples of various phases of these periods as are the many sculptures, towers and monuments.

As for night life, Prague stands out as one of the premier destinations in Europe. Cuisine of almost any origin as well as the local fare is never more than a short distance away-nor is the evening on the town following a superb meal. Ranging from intimate jazz clubs and quiet cafes to raging dance clubs and venues featuring fantastic live music of all genres, the selection of destinations for an evening on the town is limited only by time.

Prague itself is well situated for visiting the rest of the Czech Republic as well as neighboring countries Germany, Austria, Slovakia and Poland. Reliable public transportation-railway and bus-as well as a centrally located international airport make such travel relatively easy.

There are a couple of options for accommodation during your TEFL course in Prague. Currently, the Prague centre has two permanent apartments for their students.The homestay option is the same price or cheaper than the shared apartment. It is not the typical home stay, but more like a ‘pension’, as they don’t include meals. The host families often don’t speak much English, so this would be a wonderful opportunity to practice your Czech! This is a relatively inexpensive option for students that want to cut costs and at the same time have a private room.
