Entry Requirements: Candidates
will be eligible to take the course on the
following conditions:
- They are over 18 years of age, fit, healthy
and prepared to devote a lot of time and energy
and without outside commitments which might
affect their attention on to the course.
- They have obtained the necessary
qualifications for entry to Higher Education.
- In the case of mature students, without a
formal Higher Education qualification, they are
considered to have acquired sufficient
experience to equip them with the necessary
academic and study skills.
 The course: The course is very intensive and focuses on the
general principles of teaching English as a
foreign language. It is predominantly practical
in nature, and a significant proportion of your
time will be dedicated to teaching practice.
Lectures, workshops and observation of
experienced teachers take up approximately half
the course time. Teaching practice, the most
practical and important element of the course
takes up the other half, and is conducted with
real students of English.
In addition to what is
essentially a full working day, most evenings
and some part of the weekends you will be busy
with lesson preparation, homework, background
reading and longer written assignments of a
practical nature.
