Distance Learning TESOL/TEFL Courses 

Level 1: Introductory Certificate in TESOL
The course is an introduction to the skills needed to teach English. It is intended for both native and non-native speakers whose English is sufficient to complete the course. It is ideal for those wanting a low-price introduction to the Tefl / Tesol English teaching profession. The main aims of this 50-hour course are to:

- provide a basic background to teaching English
- introduce the basic principles of TEFL / TESOL
- develop a practical awareness of the English language

Level 2: Certificate of Educational Studies in TESOL
The course is a highly practical distance learning programme, allowing you to develop the skills and techniques needed in classroom teaching. It also covers some of the theoretical issues behind the practice and principles of teaching. The course is intended for both native speakers as well as non-native speakers of English. The main aims of this 150-hour Tefl / Tesol course are to:

- provide the basic skills necessary for teaching English
- develop a practical awareness of the English language
- show how this awareness can be applied in the classroom
- develop a basic knowledge of the principles of tefl / Tesol
- develop management skills for the classroom.

Level 3: Certificate in the Theory & Methodology of TESOL

The course is a highly practical distance education programme allowing you to develop the skills and techniques needed in classroom teaching. It examines in some detail the theoretical issues behind the practice and principles of teaching and reflects current methodologies and research into TESOL. The testing of English and the preparation of teaching materials are explored in some depth. The course is intended for both native speakers and non-native speakers of English. By completing this 250-hour distance learning course you will:

- acquire the basic skills necessary for teaching English
- develop further awareness of English grammar
- be able to apply this awareness in the TESOL classroom
- develop a knowledge of the principles of teaching English
- develop management skills for the classroom
- develop an understanding of the theories behind English teaching methodologies
- understand and apply the principles of English language testing
- be able to design and prepare teaching materials
