Over the past thirty years the membership has increased significantly and the portfolio of qualifications has expanded to include a wide range of curriculum areas.

Throughout this period, OCNW has maintained its independence in order to ensure that it can continue to respond promptly to the requirements of its customers and provide a consistently high standard of service.

OCNW is an unincorporated association of its members institutions and is governed by a Board, supported by three committees:

* Quality Standards
* Finance and General Purposes
* Access Co-ordinators

TESOL / TEFL Courses:

TESOL / TEFL CoursesIn London, we offer a couple of different study options. These are the 4 week residential TESOL course, the flexible TESOL courses and the combined distance learning and onsite teaching practice courses.

4 Week TESOL - London, Leeds:
 The aim of the 4 Week, 150+ hour accredited TESOL certificate course is to thoroughly prepare you for teaching EFL in any overseas environment. You will be able to prepare lessons for all age groups and levels and feel confident when selecting materials and activities. Equipped with a variety of techniques and methodologies, you will be a positive and resourceful teacher.

- Flexible TESOL course
- Cert TESOL by distance learning + onsite teaching practice

Cert TESOL by distance learning + onsite teaching practice:

INTESOL was the first TESOL/TEFL training provider to offer its Cert TESOL course trainees studying by distance learning the option to take a full week of observed teaching practice. We have subsequently been able to develop a TEFL/TESOL course that will significantly enhance your skills and confidence not only in the classroom, but also during job interviews.

This TEFL/TESOL course is ideal if you value the flexibility of studying by supported distance learning, but also want to gain experience and confidence in the classroom before accepting your first teaching job. The Teaching Practice Certificate is a one-week or two-week onsite observed and assessed teaching practice programme. By adding this option to the Cert TESOL by distance learning, it means you can really experience the best of both worlds.

Teaching practice centres are available in the UK in London and Great Yarmouth, and internationally in USA, Spain, Mexico, Costa Rica, Peru and Hong Kong. You may also organise teaching practice with your own designated school, provided they are prepared to complete and submit the required assessment forms.

Many students launch their new career before even completing their studies; therefore support starts during the programme and continues for as long as you require it, even after completing your course.

We can provide students with a comprehensive listing of overseas language schools, agencies, recruiters, and web sites advertising over 20,000 teaching jobs every month. Our centres in Barcelona, Cusco, San Jose, Mexicoand Prague have affiliated language schools that hire graduates every month. Though employment is not guaranteed, excellent opportunities do exist for talented INTESOL graduates within these schools. Opportunities also exist form time to time in our UK language schools.

Accommodation:

There are several accommodation options available in London. Our trainees are usually accommodated in the 1st or 2nd zone of the City, close to the school and various City attractions.

University Campus:  This option is ideal for students who want to live in the same building where all the classes take place. The campus has an excellent location: it is in the heart of the city, close to the most important tourist attractions, clubs, restaurants, galleries, shops, etc. The residence has twin rooms and single rooms available, with or without a meal plan.

Private Accommodation:  This is the least expensive accommodation option in London. The public transport system in London is excellent: you can use the tube, trains or buses; they all operate very well and take you to your destination very quickly, no matter where you live.

Hotels & Hostels:  The price of this type of accommodation in London usually depends on the type and rating of the hotel/hostel.

INTESOL London can help trainees to secure appropriate accommodation for the duration of the course. We will check the trainee's needs and preferences, and do our best to find a place that meets all requirements.
