The Boston Language Institute is one of the few TESL/TEFL certification schools in the US offering monthly intensive English teacher-training certificate programs and frequent part-time (Saturday) programs. The Institute has been teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) and foreign languages successfully since 1981, always stressing authentic and effective communication.
Since its creation in April 2000, the TEFL/TESL Certificate program has trained just under 1000 teachers. Our graduates teach in over 20 countries around the world, in China, Japan, Korea, Colombia, Mexico, Brazil, Costa Rica, Spain and Morocco, to name a few, while a good number of teachers teach here in the United States.
The Boston Language Institute is proud to also offer a special TEFL Certificate program designed for non-native speakers of English.
Courses:
- Our internationally acclaimed TEFL Certificate Program is available as a 4-week intensive course or a 12-week, Saturday part-time course. In both our full-time and part-time programs, we make available special units for non-native students.
Our EFL/ESL teacher training program is based on an active learning approach, giving our TEFL trainees extensive opportunity to practice what they study. In our program, you will participate in classes where your trainers model the teaching techniques to be mastered. You will then undertake skill-building activities, both individually and in small groups. You also lead your own ESL practice teaching classes for a minimum of six hours, receiving guidance and feedback from our experienced teacher trainers.
- TEFL Certificate Program for Non-native Speakers of English. In addition to all the components of our traditional TEFL course, this 4-week course also includes special training on pronunciation, American culture, and other relevant topics. The TEFL Certificate Program is appropriate for individuals with no previous teaching experience or training, as well as for experienced teachers who wish to enhance their mastery of TEFL methodology and increase their repertoire of classroom activities.
