TESOL (Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages) Certificate and Diploma Courses:
The Harvest TESOL Institute presents teacher trainees with an opportunity to learn interactively and acquire the skills needed to become an effective teacher with a strong foundation in methodology of teaching English to speakers of other languages. Our comprehensive program, which is in line with the most up-to-date ESL teaching theories and approaches, addresses general issues about teaching and learning English and helps you strategize how to handle typical situations that English teachers encounter.
Our highly-skilled, experienced, and dedicated teacher-trainers will work with you to identify your strengths and overcome your challenges as a teacher. Our small class size ensures personalized attention from your teacher, maximizes your learning, and increases your opportunity to practice. Our TESOL program includes a practicum in which you will rehearse your lessons first among your peers, and then later with actual ESL students. Our TESOL Teachers use up-to-date materials and innovative teaching methods.
TESOL Elementary Course: (60 hours) The TESOL Elementary Course includes the following topics, among others:
- Introduction to ESL
- Methods and approaches to teaching conversational English
- Effective teaching strategies and techniques
- Creative ways to incorporate reading, writing, and speaking skills in a classroom setting
- Classroom management techniques
- Detailed lesson planning
- Where to find additional teaching resources
- Culture acclimatization
- Résumé building
Specialization Courses: (60 hours each) In addition to the TESOL Elementary Course, students can opt to study any of the following specializations:
- Teaching adults - Business English - Teaching young learners - English for exams - Teaching grammar - Post-graduate - Pronunciation - Speaking - Vocabulary - Writing
Upon successfully completing the courses, students are eligible to obtain the appropriate TESOL certificate or diploma. The Harvest TESOL certificates and diplomas are accredited by the state of New Jersey, and it is accepted virtually in any country worldwide.
