Based in Berkeley in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA, Berkeley LTC is proud to offer the World Learning SIT certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of other Languages (TESOL). Our internationally recognized certificate is 130 hours and provides participants with professional knowledge and skills as well as tools for their own reflection and growth as teachers. Participants develop skills in teaching, speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar and culture.

The course is held at Language Studies International in downtown Berkeley, just down the street from the BART station, making it convenient for the San Francisco Bay Area.

Located in Tacoma WA, just 26 miles south of Seattle, ELS Tacoma provides the internationally-recognized CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) qualification.

Designed for those with little or no previous teaching experience, this initial certification is awarded by Cambridge English (part of the world-famous University of Cambridge) so you can be assured of its quality.

It is also suitable for those with some teaching experience but no formal qualifications, or people who want a career break or change.

ELS Tacoma is one of just eighteen CELTA certificate program locations in the USA, one of four on the West Coast and the only location in the Pacific Northwest (and in the Seattle area).

Classes take place on the campus of Bates Technical College, in the heart of downtown Tacoma.

Penn State World Campus
Courses / Programs
Penn State World Campus is the online campus of Pennsylvania State University, and provides quality distance education programs to students from around the world. Our Online Graduate Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) program is offered through the Department of Applied Linguistics. It is designed for students who are interested in teaching English to adults in the United States or abroad. It can be completed from anywhere in the world.

This program consists of 4 graduate-level courses which are delivered entirely in an interactive online setting. You will have access to Penn State’s vast academic resources and a flexible 12-credit course schedule. On graduation, you will have earned entry-level English language teaching credentials. This course can be completed in as few as 2 or 3 semesters (9–12 months).

The courses are taught by the same faculty who teach in our resident Master of Arts in TESL (MA TESL) program at Penn State. All 12 graduate credits can be applied to the MA TESL program. If you choose to enter the master's degree program, you will only have 2–3 semesters of on-campus learning.

Our online TESOL classes are asynchronous and consist of 9 modules completed over a 10 week quarter, and are designed for those who prefer the flexibility of online study. 

This solid project-based program taught by highly-qualified professional teacher educators prepares you to teach in the U.S. or overseas.

Classes begin winter, spring, summer and fall quarters. Onsite study options are also available.

Boston Academy Of English
Courses / Programs
The Boston Academy of English (BAE) offers a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) Certificate to both native and non-native speakers of English from the US and around the world, through an experiential approach which is both academically rigorous and personally supportive. The program is available as a full-time (4 weeks) or a part-time (12 weeks) course.

Two trainers will teach your workshops and conduct your practice teaching observations. Our trainers have Master's degrees in Education or ESL, and extensive experience teaching English in diverse settings both in the US and abroad.

Our central downtown location enables you to enjoy Boston's old-world charm within steps from our school - the Boston Common and shopping district are just outside our door!
Our ACCET-accredited TEFL Certificate Program is designed to prepare participants for the exciting career of teaching English as a foreign or second language.
