Private / Independent Schools in the UK
Rochester Independent College, established in 1984, offers a distinctive alternative to a conventional sixth form and a stepping stone between school and university. We are located in the County of Kent, just East of London. We accept day students from the age of 11 and boarders from the age of 16.
Our focus is on examination success in a lively, supportive and informal atmosphere. Students are encouraged to be themselves and achieve exam results that often exceed their expectations. Rochester Independent College is accredited by the ISC (Independent Schools Council) and a member of the ISA (Independent Schools Association). The College's January 2008 Ofsted report judged that "the quality of education is outstanding."
Students come to us from all over the UK and the world, as well as the local area. There are no bells ringing, no uniforms and everybody is on first name terms. The College has an atmosphere closer to university than school where students are treated as young adults.
|
Most full time students at the College are here to study one or two year A level courses in sixth form, GCSE courses in the Lower School, English as a Foreign Language (ESL), Visual and Creative Art courses or a combination of these. Many are taking subjects on first time courses, others may be taking resits. The average class size is eight.

Stowe School is a co-educational independent boarding school in Buckingham, just one hour north of London, in the heart of the English countryside. The School enjoys a national reputation and attracts pupils from across the UK; a further 10% of its pupils are international. Nearly 90% of pupils enjoy full boarding, but the School also welcomes over 70 day pupils from nearby towns and villages. We are a wonderful school in the most sublime setting which celebrates youth rather than stifling it. Stowe embodies the English Enlightenment and its ethos continues to be shaped by the people who teach and learn here.
We offer an inspiring environment for the education of boys and girls aged thirteen to eighteen in the firm belief that every one of them has the potential for excellence waiting to be unearthed and burnished – the jewel within. Through teaching of the highest calibre, Stoics are encouraged to think for themselves, challenge conventional orthodoxies and pursue their own enthusiasms. They rejoice in the differences that exist between them – intellectually, in sporting prowess and in artistic and creative achievements.

Litte Gems Nursery is an OFSTED approved professional nursery offering both full and half-day childcare in the Newham area of East London. The nursery is registered to care for 30 children, ages 6 months to 5 years. A partnership has been formed with Early Years schools in London with whom we work closely with to ensure all childcare requirements are met. We are striving for excellence and increasing our clientele and accessibility to our business to become a market leader in this field.
We do vary our activities for our children. This gives our children the opportunity to explore new and different things, whilst having time learning to play with others and becoming 'independent'. In addition, we ask the children to help set up for snack/times, and clearing up and tidy up after activities. We hope this teaches them that to have fun you also have some chores that do need to be carried out.
