Hemingway Language School (accredited by the Cervantes Institute) is a
middle-sized private school located in the city center
of Bilbao in romantic Northern Spain since 1986. We are
not only a "Spanish School", we are an "Institute for
Languages and Cross-Cultural Training". We offer
programs such as Spanish courses, semester abroad
programs, internship programs, volunteer work, adventure
tours, and summer camps.
With our partner school, we offer a summer camp for boys and girls
aged between 13 and 17 in the Angosto Monastery Youth
Centre in Villanañe (Álava), set in the Valdegovia Valley, next to the
Valderejo natural park and well communicated with
Vitoria, Logroño, Santander, Burgos and Bilbao. Students
enjoy a rich artistic and cultural heritage setting,
with picturesque villages, magestic castles, monasteries
in the mountains, watermills, caves. This is a magical
place to visit and explore.
 The camp combines English or Spanish classes with sports
and outdoors activities. This is an international camp
where boys and girls from a range of different
nationalities all come together and in which English or
Spanish is learnt, according to the pupil's country of
origin. We foster the meeting of teenagers of different
nationalities; a unique opportunity to have an
English/Spanish intercambio with boys and girls from
different countries of origin. Upon arrival at the youth
camp, all of the teenagers sit a test so that their
level is known and they can be placed in a corresponding
class.
The youth centre has 50 places available spread over
three floors in shared rooms with separate toilets for
the two genders. There is also a large lounge/diner,
common rooms, the classrooms and kitchen.
Our programs are designed for the pupils to:
- Learn and perfect English or Spanish in an intensive
way in groups adapted to their level of knowledge in the
language
- Undertake activities that put the pupils in direct
contact with the local nature
- Take part in sporting activities
- Get to know the natural and cultural richness of the
area
- Foster such values as: independence, responsibility,
organisation, discipline and team work
English/Spanish language classes: The program
includes 4 daily classes of English or Spanish from
Monday to Friday, taught in small groups corresponding
to different levels. Throughout the 20 hours of English
or Spanish classes per week pupils will learn and
reinforce their language knowledge through the
interactive and dynamic classes.
Included in the program: Accommodation, Full
board (breakfast, lunch, afternoon snacks and dinner,
Activities, Activity materials, Didactic materials,
Health and accident insurance, 24 hour care and watch by
monitors and teachers.
