Language Institute is located in the heart of
Manhattan, right inside the world famous Empire
State Building. We are on the corner of 34th
Street and Fifth Avenue, convenient to all
public transportation. Within walking distance
of our school, students can visit such famous
places as the New York Public Library, Madison
Square Garden, the Museum of Modern Art, etc. We
are also close to Broadway, Times Square, and
lots of places to eat and shop.
Accreditation: GEOS Language Institute is accredited by ACCET,
licensed by the New York State Department of
Education, and authorized by federal law to
enroll non-immigrant students.
 Courses: We offer both full and part time
classes with convenient schedules. The class
size is limited and there are various types of
classes for many different levels of students.
- Intensive English Course: This full-time English
program is designed for international students
who wish to develop their ESL communication
skills, grammar, vocabulary, idioms, writing,
and reading.
- iBT TOEFL Preparation Course: Features creative
learning activities and small classes to help
you prepare for the iBT TOEFL Exam. Students
learn skills and strategies for the reading and
writing, listening and speaking sections of the
test.
- Junior English Group Courses: These custom
designed group courses are for teens aged 14 to
18 and include English lessons, after-school
activities, and homestay program.
- English Plus Art: For artists preparing for art
school and art programs in college and
university, you can now brush up on your English
or get the perspective on iBT TOEFL you need.
This program is offered in cooperation with
Aschcan School of Art in New York City.
- The GEOS Homestay Program, Private English
Lessons.
 - Business English - Private English Lessons:
Business Professionals can work on specific
areas of their business English one-on-one with
their instructor. In addition to acquiring new
and practical language, students can have the
opportunity to role-play real life business
situations - sales presentations, meetings, etc.
Individual Counseling: On the last day of
each four-week session we offer our full time
students individual counseling. Students will
receive a report card with their grades and
comments from teachers about their performance
during the month. Each student meets one on one
with their teacher for a personal counseling
session.
Accommodation: The GEOS Homestay Program is intended to give
visiting foreign students a first-hand
experience of American culture by sharing with
their host family in everyday life. As well as
being able to use practical English language
skills they have learned in school, it is
expected that students will be able to
participate in family activities for a holistic
view of life in New York City. A GEOS staff
member visits each of our homestay families with
student's interests in mind. Our aim is to
provide our students with a secure, educational,
and economical
 environment. Our host families
live in safe, comfortable neighborhoods in
Brooklyn, Queens and Northern New Jersey.
We are proud to announce a partnership with the
Greater New York YMCA to provide residence
accommodation for GEOS Students. Three YMCA
guest accommodations in Manhattan, two in
Brooklyn and two in Queens offer clean,
comfortable and tranquil rooms for GEOS Students
at affordable rates.
Computer Facilities: We have a wireless
network available for students who wish to
connect their laptop computers and other
portable devices to the Internet. There are also
computers that students can use for Internet,
Email, and language study. We also have TOEFL
and other English learning software students can
use for self study. |
