The Consular Office of the UAE Embassy provides all the standard consular services, such as assistance to its citizens with travel documents, legal issues, and various emergencies. The Consular Office also offers information and assistance with visas and other travel to UAE related issues to the Canadian citizens.

Canadian passport holders will be granted entry free of charge to the UAE with their visit arrival stamp, again, issued upon arrival in the UAE. No application in advance of travel is necessary. Please know that the Canadian passport will be stamped for 30 days upon arrival. If further stay is required, an application for an extension should be made to the local General Directorate of Residence and Foreign Affairs three days prior to the expiry date.

A driver’s license validation can be requested by customers who currently hold a UAE-based driver’s licence and wish to fast-track the process of obtaining a valid Canadian driver’s license. A validation letter attested by the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates will provide the Ministry of Transport in Canada proof of the applicants’ driving history, whereby the period between obtaining a G1 and a G license can be shortened considerably.

Please be informed that any documents submitted for legalization to the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates will be retained for a maximum of 2 months upon receipt. A prepaid return envelope or a computer generated waybill is required to mail back your documents. If requirements are not completed within the proposed time, documents will be disposed of safely and confidentially.
NOTE – Money orders, certified cheques or drafts issued to the Embassy are non- refundable.

Please note that the Embassy of the United Arab Emirates to Canada is closed on all Canadian national holidays.
