Accounting and Payroll Administrator Program:

A five-week practicum will give you an opportunity to put your skills to use in the field. As a graduate of this program, you'll also receive Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification through the Canadian Payroll Association (CPA).

Payroll and Income Tax Practitioner Certificate Program:

This training program is ideal for students who already have a working knowledge of computer systems and experience in office environments. Develop your accounting skills, and learn how to use modern accounting software applications, such as Simply Accounting. Legal Administrative Assistant Diploma Program:

Paralegal Diploma Program:

The Paralegal Assistant program provides a broad overview of the Canadian legal system, Legal Professional Act and Rules of the Law Society of BC. Supply Chain Management Diploma Program:

The growing supply chain industry sector is one of the largest providers of employment in Canada, and is expected to continue to grow steadily into the future,  with tens of thousands of new positions being added each year. Supply chain management focuses on the logistics of the flow of goods and services from suppliers to consumers. It includes areas such as procurement, storage, transportation and distribution, and requires knowledge in supply and demand estimation and forecasting, negotiation, operations planning, financial planning, technical requirements and IT.

The aim of this supply chain diploma program is to provide you with a combination of general computer and business skills as well as provide a practical foundation in purchasing and procurement, operations and project management, inventory management, logistics, transportation and distribution. These skills prepare you to enter the employment market on graduation, with the necessary knowledge and hands on experience to succeed in the ever-evolving supply chain industry.

Practical Nursing Diploma Program:
This 75-week program provides an introduction to the fundamental duties and responsibilities of a Practical Nurse. It aims to train students to work alongside fellow healthcare specialists in settings like acute care wards, long-term care facilities, public schools, and private homes. The curriculum follows standards laid out by the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of British Columbia.

Courses combine both classroom learning and lab work, as well as four practica. Students are trained in both holistic and clinical practices and will gain experience in facilities that deal with gerantology, acute care, and community medical care. To help to transition them from student to graduate, students participate in a preceptorship and job search training at the end of the supervised learning.

Practical Nursing Access Diploma Program:
Upgrade your education: This program is for those who already have a Health Care Assistant diploma from an accredited BC post-secondary institution. This shorter program allows you to build on your current healthcare skill set, and progress into a more robust role in the healthcare sector as a practical nurse.

Pharmacy Assistant Program:
Pharmacy Assistant / Technician is becoming an increasingly essential position as a result of pharmacists taking a more active role in drug therapy and the counseling of their patients. Students will be trained in pharmacology, dispensing (community & hospital), inventory, billing and administration, as well as customer service skills. You will also receive First Aid and CPR training and certification. As as successful graduate of this program, you will be in great demand. A Canadian Journal of Hospital Pharmacy study states, “86 per cent of all graduates of Pharmacy Assistant / Technician programs found work in their field.”

Social Services Worker Foundations Program:

Social Services Worker Recovery Specialist Program:
Make a difference in life and in your community. Gain the background you need to enter the rewarding social services field, and to help people in addictions recovery. Graduates have found employment in a number of areas including correctional facilities, drug and alcohol treatment facilities, group homes, aboriginal agencies, and other similar community service centers.

Health Care Assistant Program:
An intensive program designed to prepare graduates for such positions as Health Care Assistant, Long-Term Care Aide (geriatric), Home Healthcare Worker, Residential Care Attendant or Nursing Aid. The excellent training provided by highly qualified instructors, and the experience acquired during the seven weeks of clinical training will equip students with the knowledge and confidence for a career in care giving.

Each student will complete three-weeks of clinical training in intermediate care and four-weeks of clinical training in an extended care facility to give them the hands-on experience that is so crucial to getting a job.

Early Childhood Education Certificate Program:
The Vancouver Career College early childhood education program (43-weeks) combines theory and practical knowledge to prepare you for this highly rewarding career. The core curriculum focuses on child growth and development, relationship building, behaviour management, guidance skills, health, safety and program planning. Students also learn how to use art, drama, music and movement to enable learning.

Students can also apply for an Assistant Licence to become an Assistant through the Early Childhood Education Registry after completing the required courses. Hands-on training is also an important part of the program, with a number of observation modules designed so that students work with trained educators and Vancouver Career College faculty.

There is great demand in most communities for enthusiastic and well-trained childcare graduates to fill a variety of dynamic positions in Early Childhood Education. Graduates of this program are ready to embark on childcare careers in both the non-profit and profit sectors, including in preschools, nursery schools, day cares services, and family service centres.

Registered Massage Therapy Diploma Program:
Study to become a massage therapist at Vancouver Career College. In our Registered Massage Therapy program, you will learn the fundamental practices of massage, and how they can be used to treat injuries and other medical conditions, and promote wellness. You will study a range of subjects, including anatomy, physiology, joints, and the nervous system. Apply your new skills in the supervised student clinic.

This Massage Therapy program meets the competencies listed by the College of Massage Therapists of BC (CTMBC) Occupational Competency Profile. Graduates are also prepared to write the CMTBC registration examinations.

TESL - Teaching English Second Language Program:
TESL (or TEFL or TESOL), means Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language, and a TESL certificate is the major qualification required to teach English abroad. Students learn how to create learner-centred lessons, manage classes and evaluate learners. With a supervised TESL / TESOL practicum component, graduates gain real classroom experience. Graduate may choose to apply for teaching jobs in Canada and internationally. Though not an admissions requirement, it is recommended that students have completed or nearing completion of a bachelor’s degree.

Veterinary Health Care Assistant Diploma Program:
The Veterinary Health Care Assistant program at Vancouver Career College provides the strong foundation of skills and knowledge that you need to provide a variety of clinical and administrative services in a wide range of animal care facilities. The work of a veterinary assistant spans the duties of veterinary office assistant and animal health technician.

On completion of the diploma course, you will be able to work effectively with the animal health technologist and/or the veterinary doctor, and you will acquire certifications in WHMIS 2015, Standard First Aid with CPR, and DOGSAFE Canine First Aid.

Captioners and court reporters are highly skilled professionals who can capture speech at speeds of 225 words per minute (wpm) and higher. Using an electronic shorthand machine and sophisticated computer technology, reporters translate a conversation virtually simultaneously to the printed word.

NAIT offers the only Captioning and Court Reporting program in western Canada approved by the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA) - a 35,000 member organization based in the United States. Graduates may broadcast caption live television an internet programming, write court trials and other legal proceedings, or provide CART services writing realtime in educational, corporate, or community settings.

Using electronic shorthand machines and sophisticated computer technology, students in our program learn to write and translate the spoken word simultaneously to the printed word at speeds of 225 words per minute and higher. Practical training is scheduled when the student has completed the 180 wpm speed level. Students will attend civil, criminal, and other proceedings with certified court reporters.
