JOB DESCRIPTION Part-time Personal Assistant
A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF I am a 40 year-old woman living in the Aberdare area.
I am very active and love sport.
My main interests are martial arts, weight lifting and cycling.
I would love a PA who shares the same interests in sport as me as I require support with my hobbies for example joining me on a bike ride, supporting me with lifting weights, helping me teach and enabling me to join groups.
Being comfortable with public speaking is a big factor in this role as my disability, Dystonia, affects my speech.
Should be comfortable with the idea of being around large dogs, as I have a friendly and excitable Newfoundland.
PURPOSE OF JOBSupport me in the community to maintain and retain my independence.
Also help with hospital appointments etc.
HOURS OF WORK8 hours per week
Times can be agreed at interview stage but a degree of flexibility will be needed.
RATES OF PAY£13.85 per hour 40p mileage available.
TASKS INVOLVED- Meals and preparation
- Social outings and community based activities
- Physical activities like bike rides
- Help me with weightlifting
- Assisting me to attend hospital appointments
- Light and basic household duties, helping maintain my home to a high standard
- Any other reasonable task
- A reliable and trustworthy person is essential
- Someone friendly and easy to build rapport with
- Confidentiality and respect for working in my home
- Car driver is essential
- Comfortable with pets in the home
- Be able to physically participate in some of the activities I do
This position is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS Disclosure (Police Check), which must be completed prior to the commencement of employment.
The cost of this check will be covered by the Local Authority.
All necessary checks will be conducted to verify that any candidate has the legal right to work in the UK before employment begins.
Although this is a part-time role, it is a legitimate position requiring the submission of a National Insurance number.
Employment will commence under an initial trial period.
Wages will be paid on a monthly basis and appropriate holiday pay will be provided.
