About the Role
In our continued mission to create shopping destinations that entertain, inspire, and bring communities together, Tanger is seeking a Tanger Ambassador – Hilton Head. This role offers the opportunity to work both independently and collaboratively, supported by a flexible, Teams‑driven workplace designed to empower connection, innovation, and impact across geographies.
EssentialJob Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain a polished and professional appearance that aligns with the brand image.
- Attend Tanger virtual or in‑person sessions, webinars, or meetings to enhance knowledge and skills as a brand ambassador.
- Engage and proactively assist all guests across the center as assigned, driving consumer awareness, providing a consistent brand voice, and creating a fun welcoming atmosphere.
- Develop and maintain expert knowledge of all center store locations, amenities, local and national programs, promotional offers, and event details to answer questions and provide superior customer service to shoppers and retailers.
- Prepare and hand out samples, coupons, and product information.
- Distribute marketing and promotional materials to shoppers.
- Collect and record customer feedback and information as needed internally and for client relations.
- Use expert mobile technology skills to educate shoppers on Tanger Club benefits and opportunities for additional savings, sales, contests, events, and loyalty perks via the Tanger Mobile App.
- Assist new customers in signing up for Tanger Club and with the Mobile App.
- Represent Tanger by actively participating in on‑site and off‑site marketing events to promote initiatives locally and regionally, including conferences, trade shows, and other events.
- Assist in set up, organization, and breakdown for events.
- Capture and recap promotional events via photos, video, audio, etc.
- Foster partnerships with retailers by responding appropriately to retailer requests.
- Assist center management as needed.
- Drive operational excellence by reporting center issues or concerns in a timely and accurate manner according to policy.
- Provide general administrative and clerical support, including office upkeep and organization.
- Assist in receiving shipments, routing incoming mail, and preparing outgoing mail and overnight packages.
- Assist with maintenance and regular updates of emergency notification systems, HVAC & roof logs, center collateral & signage, center website, vendor check‑in & social media channels.
- Assist in training new Brand Ambassadors as needed.
- Perform additional duties or participate in other special projects as assigned.
- Focus on making the best first impression—smile, welcome, and connect with customers authentically.
- Effective in a variety of communication settings: one‑on‑one, small and large groups, or among diverse styles and position levels.
- Offer “best in class” service, anticipate needs, and leave customers with a positive experience.
- Carefully listen and understand a customer’s situation to assist them.
- Acknowledge, interact, and build relationships with shoppers, vendors, and retailers.
- Maintain a polite demeanor and demonstrate patience when interacting with customers.
- Act in a professional manner at all times.
- Remain up to date on marketing initiatives to drive revenue generation.
- Use positive language in verbal and written communication. Fluent in English; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
- Navigate current and emerging technology and applications with proficiency, including mobile devices (phones/iPads, tablets).
- Work outdoors promoting marketing initiatives designed to drive traffic and generate revenue.
- Work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate business needs.

- High School Diploma or related work experience.
- 1–2 years customer service experience.
- 1 year administrative experience (preferred).
- Bilingual: read, write, and speak Spanish.
