Position Overview

We are adding a Care, Preservation & Maintenance Specialist to our Kiewit team to support Quality Inspection, Field inspection and Quality Auditing for Construction projects around the United States. In this role, you will provide quality oversight for the construction team to ensure our projects are built to the quality requirements, specifications, and client requirements required.

District Overview

The Kiewit Industrial District delivers direct‑hire construction services for complex industrial projects across the United States. Location

Based in Abilene, Texas. This role will require relocation or travel to project sites for the duration of the project, around the country. Relocation and/or per diem is provided while on the project.

Responsibilities
  • Provide system quality control support by conducting inspections and testing on electrical and mechanical components.
  • Support team members as a program focal point for quality assurance, acting as a liaison with other functional departments.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the project scope and schedule as they relate to your specific assignment.
  • Examine/inspect field conditions and identify problems, inaccuracies, and cost‑saving measures that arise or may be encountered. Take corrective actions as needed.
  • Assist with identifying and reporting rework and non‑conforming issues.
  • Perform daily field inspections to assess equipment condition and document findings using standardized checklists.
  • Identify and report deficiencies to support safe and compliant operations.
  • Handle operations and management, storage requirements, submittals, and technical specifications.
Qualifications
  • Self‑starter with exceptional organization and interpersonal skills.
  • 1‑5 years in quality and field inspection, quality auditing, and surveillance for construction. Working knowledge of the specific trade of discipline as assigned, with associated special processes, inspection and testing techniques.
  • Working knowledge of construction industry codes relating to area of expertise (i.e., ACI, AWS, ASME, NEC, etc.).
  • Experience in mechanical and electrical engineered equipment.
  • Associate degree in engineering technology, construction or quality preferred, plus 1‑5 years’ experience in a related construction field, or a high school graduate or equivalent (GED) plus 5‑10 years of experience in a related construction field.
  • Preferred degree in construction management or engineering.
  • Knowledge of quality control procedures, tracking and reporting, material/equipment quality review and experience reviewing completed work packages to ensure drawings/specifications and client requirements are met.
  • Knowledge of equipment operations and maintenance manuals and storage requirements.
  • Experience with industrial construction is preferred.
