Job DescriptionThe
A. Linwood Holton Governor's School is seeking applicants to fill an adjunct part‑time Political Science vacancy. The Governor's School works with five community colleges and 18 school divisions to provide dual enrollment courses to motivated and talented high school sophomores, juniors and seniors. The Governor's School's Political Science classes are taught as asynchronous virtual classes using learning management software provided by the school.
The school is based at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center in Abingdon, VA.
- Part‑time adjunct teaching position.
- Must be eligible to meet requirements for community college credentialing for teaching Political Science. Master’s degree in the subject area or a master’s degree in a closely related discipline with a minimum of eighteen (18) graduate semester hours in the subject area from a regionally accredited higher education institution is required.
- Teaching experience at the high school and/or college level is preferred.
- Strong technology skills preferred.
- Work location is negotiable for successful candidates.

Starting pay will be based on the
A. Linwood Holton Governor's School approved asynchronous pay scale.
