Position: System Approach to Training (SAT) Designer

About the Role

The System Approach to Training (SAT) Designer plays a key role in developing, reviewing and enhancing Course Training Plans (CTPs) that support formal individual training requirements. Working closely with the SAT Team Leader Design this position ensures training programs meet GHQ SAT policies and are ready for approval by the Training Management Committee (TMC). This is an excellent opportunity for a training design professional with strong instructional analysis skills and exposure to structured or military training environments.

Responsibilities
  • Support the SAT Team Leader in developing and updating Course Training Plans (CTPs).
  • Liaise with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to identify training gaps and review Training Performance Statements.
  • Conduct instructional method and media analysis.
  • Design course outlines, detailed syllabi, lesson plans and training programs.
  • Develop course assessment plans, marking criteria and internal validation questionnaires.
  • Ensure all administrative and assessment materials are correctly incorporated into CTPs.
  • Attend Training Management Committee (TMC) meetings and provide design inputs.
  • Support quality control activities including pilot evaluations of new courses.
  • Contribute to internal audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Systems Approach to Training (SAT).
  • Act as Deputy for the SAT Team Leader Design when required.
Qualifications
  • Systems Approach to Training (SAT) certification or equivalent instructional/training design qualification.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Design, Training Management, Human Factors, Aviation Studies, or a related discipline (preferred).
  • Formal certification or training in Instructional Systems Design (ISD), Curriculum Development, or Adult Learning Principles is an advantage.
  • Experience applying SAT/ADDIE methodology in a regulated, aviation and defense training environment is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to design outcome-based training aligned to performance standards.
