Majoraccountabilities of Position
- A skilled Instrumentation and Control Engineer with around 10 years of expertise in the oil and gas industry projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for design engineering of instrumentation & control systems in complex, large‑scale oil and gas detailed engineering projects.
- Develop and review detailed engineering (EPC stage) designs for instrumentation systems, including control systems, safety systems, and measurement instruments.
- Create and review instrument specifications, datasheets, and control narratives. Design, install and configure process control systems, including instrumentation for temperature, pressure, flow and level measurements.
- Ensure proper integration of instrumentation systems with control systems such as ICSS, DCS, PLC and SCADA.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes and regulations (e.g., IEC, ISA, API).
- Maintain documentation for all instrumentation and control systems.
- Effective interaction with client engineering team for approval of design deliverables.
- Represent organisational competency and capabilities at various forums.
- Offshore design of control room, instrumentation equipment room (IES) and instrumentation & control system design for the assigned project with other disciplines, client and vendors as required. Design of ICSS, F&G, ESD.
- Experience in the production, design, evaluation and specification of I&C equipment and automation systems, package items and I&C bulk items including cabling in detailed design packages.
- Development of I&C specifications, data sheets, instrumentation & control system philosophy, control system architecture, instrument adequacy report, instrument index, I&C cable block diagrams, I&C equipment list, schedules, I/O list, SIL assessment report, instrument sizing calculations.
- Experience in preparing material requisition, scope of works, review of offers, technical clarifications and technical bid evaluations for all I&C items such as ICSS, field instruments, valves, transmitters, package items and bulk materials.
- Experience working in SPI & Aveva instrumentation. 3D modelling activities related to instrumentations.
- Experience in preparing modification scope of work for existing control systems.
- Participation in site survey and data collection for instrumentation design.
- Good understanding of HSE requirements of both self and within the discipline team.
- Ensuring technical integrity of the instrumentation deliverables for the project, in particular ensuring compliance with the work scope and with applicable international standards.
- Experience (minimum 10 years) in execution of detailed engineering for offshore oil and gas projects.
- Perform engineering design for I&C system for oil and gas projects.
- Preparation and review of all I&C engineering deliverables such as I&C specifications, data sheets, instrumentation & control system philosophy, control system architecture, instrument adequacy report, instrument index, I&C cable block diagrams, I&C equipment list, schedules, I/O list, SIL assessment report, instrument sizing calculations, instrument loop diagrams, instrument hook‑up drawings, layout drawings, wiring details, equipment sizing, I&C MTO.
- IES & control room layouts & field layouts for offshore oil & gas projects.
- Good knowledge of ADNOC standards and international standards such as NFPA and IEC.
- Graduate degree in instrumentation engineering.
- Good knowledge of hazardous area classification, instrumentation safety in design, sustainable design engineering, HAZID, HAZOP and SIL.
- Computer skills with MS Office and instrumentation engineering / sizing software such as SPI, AVEVA, Ingredient software, etc.
- Good communication skills, able to guide designers and junior engineers and workshare team.
- Good command of the English language – verbal as well as writing skills, report writing, presentation to client.
- Should be able to guide team of engineers and designers, workshare.
