Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspection, preventive maintenance (PM), and condition monitoring of Cut & Bend machines and associated equipment.
- Execute breakdown maintenance with quick fault identification to minimize production downtime.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems: control panels, motors, drives, VFDs, sensors, limit switches, encoders.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems: gearboxes, bearings, chains, couplings, rollers, straightening units.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and mechanical schematics.
- Carry out alignment, lubrication, tightening, and calibration activities for optimal machine performance.
- Support installation, commissioning, and trial runs of new machines or upgraded systems.
- Monitor machine performance and report abnormalities to supervisors with proper documentation.
- Maintain maintenance logs, checklists, and daily reports in line with plant requirements.
- Ensure availability and proper usage of tools, spares, and consumables.
- Follow Lockout-Tagout (LOTO) and all safety procedures during maintenance work.
- Coordinate with production teams to plan maintenance without impacting output targets.
- Assist in root‑cause analysis (RCA) and implementation of corrective preventive actions.
- BE / B Tech / Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or ITI) – 3–6 years of hands‑on experience in manufacturing or heavy engineering industry.
- Strong working experience with Cut & Bend machines (rebar processing lines) preferred.
- Basic knowledge of PLC systems and control circuits, hydraulics and pneumatics, industrial safety standards.
- Ability to work in shift operations and handle emergency breakdowns.
- Good troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
- Physically fit to work in industrial environments.
- Experience in steel / rebar / fabrication industry.
- Exposure to preventive & predictive maintenance practices.
- Team‑oriented with a proactive approach to maintenance.
