Scenic Artist Job Description

Essential:

• Experienced Artist working in Scenic Painting, Automotive Painting, Fiberglass, Cement Rock Carving, and/or Surface Texturing.
• 2+ years’ experience in an Art Department building Theme parks, movies, or show sets
  · Hands on installation experience a plus
• Has experience in creative manufacturing either painting or sculpting
• Has positive attitude and willing to do what it takes to get the job done according to standards and keeping within the allotted time.
• Able to follow instructions
  · Able to communicate ideas and not afraid to ask questions.
  · Has motivation and a ‘can do’ attitude
• Proven ability in troubleshooting, Problem solving skills.
• Able to adhere to strict timelines.
• Clear understanding of both written and spoken English.
• Ability to understand line drawings and schematics.
• Willing to work night shift

Desirable:

• 4+ years’ or more experience
• Both Sculpting and Painting Experience
• Understands color theory and is able to color match by eye.
• Experience in Murals, Air brushing, Automotive spray and Scenic faux painting techniques
• Worked with stencils and vinyl installation
• Fiberglass, finishing, molding methods and practical applications
• Knowledge and practical applications of cement mixing, carving, texturing, etc.
• Knowledge of repairing fiberglass, cement, wallboard, etc.
• People Person who works well under pressure
• Has the desire and drive to learn and grow with the department.
