Plumber

Purpose and Scope

Amentum is seeking a Plumber or Water Systems Technician (WST) to support a U.S. Air Force installation in the United Arab Emirates. The role will perform plumbing and water system services on the base, including repair, inspection, replacement, maintenance and installation tasks as outlined in the USAF contract.

• Perform plumbing and water systems services: repair, inspect, replace, maintain, connect/disconnect, and install valves, valve stations and other components.
• Conduct periodic inspections and maintenance of exterior and interior plumbing systems such as pumps, tanks, storm drains, and sewer mains.
• Identify needed repairs through work orders and inspections.
• Maintain and repair water tanks, septic tanks, water lines and septic lines.
• Repair or replace all piping conveying water or wastewater and other system components not in compliance with plumbing codes.
• Maintain, test and repair fire hydrants.
• Perform all work in accordance with U.S., international, Air Force and PWS criteria and plumbing codes.

• U.S. citizenship required for facility credentials/authorization.
• Must be fully qualified to work on the USAF systems or hold at least a USAF 5‑level certification equivalent.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a plumber on a U.S. Air Force military installation or equivalent mission.
• Valid journeyman license and three or more years of related plumbing experience.
• Previous experience working with engineers, engineering technicians, or industrial machinery installation, repair, and maintenance workers.
• Experience in austere OCONUS environments with a multinational workforce.
• Strong organization and time‑management skills.
• Computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Valid state driver’s license and qualification to operate government general‑purpose vehicle.
• High school diploma or equivalent; military or technical training in plumbing/water systems.

• Experienced and certified plumber/water technician in the U.S. Air Force.

The job requires frequent walking, hand use, reaching, climbing, standing, bending, and working in cramped areas. Lifting tools and equipment up to 40 lbs is common. Workers may be exposed to humid conditions, high heat, fumes, airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and weather extremes. Noise level is moderate.

Employees must be able to work well with others, including government personnel, and be willing to perform regular job requirements in an austere, extreme environment.

Compensation range or hourly rate to be determined (TBD). Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, market data, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and relevant laws.
