Position Overview
The Quality Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining quality assurance processes that ensure product integrity, regulatory compliance, and customer requirements across all stages of production. This role leads audits, supports a quality management system, and partners with cross‑functional teams to identify quality issues, drive corrective actions, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities- Maintain and enhance the Quality Management System in alignment with AS9100 and ISO 9001 standards
- Lead internal AS9100 process and product audits to ensure compliance with procedures and regulatory requirements
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and regulatory agencies, including the FAA
- Support accreditation and certification activities as required by the business
- Issue FAA Form 8130-3, ensuring all parts and documentation meet airworthiness, traceability, and regulatory standards prior to certification
- Oversee calibration and maintenance programs for precision measurement equipment and manufacturing tools
- Develop, review, and approve quality plans, inspection criteria, and process control documentation for hardware and assemblies
- Lead root cause investigations for nonconformances using structured methodologies such as 5‑Why, Fishbone diagrams, and 8D
- Manage the Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) process to prevent recurrence of defects
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste
- Evaluate supplier performance and conduct audits to ensure quality of incoming materials and components
- Conduct Material Review Board (MRB) activities to determine disposition of nonconforming materials including rework, scrap, or use‑as‑is decisions
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Aerospace, Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in aerospace
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt is a plus
- Working knowledge of FAA Part 21 or Part 145 regulations is a plus
- Strong knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
- Experience with quality systems and tools such as 8D, FMEA, Minitab or Net‑Inspect
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle
- Analytical thinking with the ability to interpret complex drawings and data
- US Citizenship or US Green Card required
- People on OPT or visa are not eligible
- Experience in avionics or aerospace electronics manufacturing
- Experience working with regulatory compliance requirements such as REACH/ RoHS directives, restricted substances reporting, etc.
- Familiarity with FAA repair station (Part 145) requirements
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Knowledge of AS9102 and experience performing First Article Inspections (FAIs)
- Combination of office and production/manufacturing floor environment.
- May require occasional travel to supplier or customer locations.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

End‑to‑end ownership: HUT designs, integrates, and supports its products. You’ll have line of sight from concept to cabin to in‑service performance.
