Albert Bartlett, a leading name in the potato industry, is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, and supporting the preparation of financial statements. As a Financial Accountant at Albert Bartlett, you will work closely with the accounting team to maintain financial controls, handle month‑end and year‑end close processes, and assist in various reporting activities that contribute to the financial health of the company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records in line with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports.
  • Support the month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate any discrepancies.
  • Prepare and process journals, accruals, and prepayments as required.
  • Assist with VAT returns and other compliance‑related tasks.
  • Work with the finance team to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiencies.
  • Provide support during external audits and liaise with auditors as necessary.
Requirements
  • Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) or part‑qualified.
  • Min 2 years of experience in a financial accounting role in a Manufacturing Environment.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with accounting software and proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
  • Good analytical and problem‑solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of working well within a team and with other departments
  • Ability to work independently while also contributing positively to a team‑oriented environment.
