Senior Income Tax Accountant Responsibilities
- Prepare and review US, international, state, and local income tax filings, including estimates, returns, and quarterly projections.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and complete compliance with all applicable tax laws, regulations, judicial decisions, and administrative pronouncements.
- Review and analyze new tax rules and changes to existing rules to maintain ongoing compliance.
- Assist with preparing, reviewing, and documenting the quarterly and annual income tax provision, including identification and calculation of permanent book/tax differences, discrete items, deferred income taxes, uncertain tax positions, and valuation allowances.
- Conduct research on income‑tax issues and address issues arising from special projects as directed by the Director of Tax.
- Respond to notices and assist with federal, state, and local tax audits or examinations, including anticipating auditors’ requests, preparing supporting documents, and researching audit issues.
- Act as a self‑starter, performing additional duties and projects commensurate with the role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or an equivalent field.
- 2–5 years of related experience.
- CPA, master’s degree in tax, JD/LLM (a plus).
- Strong knowledge of tax accounting and tax laws/regulations.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to multi‑task.
- Proficiency with technology, including MS Office, One Source, SAP, and tax research tools.
- Must reside in the Cleveland/Akron area and be available to work on‑site hybrid (9–12 days per month).
