Senior Financial Analyst – Signet Diamond Sourcing (SDS)

Report to:
Senior Manager, SDS Finance. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive inventory accounting, cost of goods sold (COGS) accuracy, and overall financial performance.

• Analyze and report on inventory balances, reserves, gross margin, and COGS, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Prepare and deliver monthly, quarterly, and ad‑hoc financial reports to support management decision‑making.
• Assist with month‑end close activities: journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis for inventory and COGS.
• Support forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, providing insights into operational and financial performance.
• Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and KPIs to enhance visibility into financial and operational results.
• Ensure accuracy of physical inventory through collaboration with operations and resolution of discrepancies.
• Analyze inventory transactions, roll‑forwards, cost variances, and obsolescence reserves.
• Partner with supply chain and operations to ensure accurate COGS reporting and inventory valuation.
• Provide insights on inventory turnover, shrinkage, and operational inefficiencies, recommending improvement actions.
• Manage pricing and costing data infrastructure, maintaining pricing grids and integrating data sources for the Sourcing Costing team.
• Develop advanced SQL queries and data pipelines to consolidate datasets from multiple systems for scalable, reliable analysis.
• Deliver data‑driven insights by building analytical models, improving automation and standardization.
• Identify and implement process improvements to streamline financial procedures and enhance data accuracy.
• Act as a trusted business partner to supply chain, operations, and accounting, offering financial insights and recommendations.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors, preparing required documentation and ensuring SOX compliance.
• Collaborate with IT and ERP teams to optimize systems for financial and inventory reporting.

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or Economics.
• 3–5 years of financial analysis and accounting experience, preferably in inventory, COGS or a related field.
• CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
• Experience in retail, wholesale or e‑commerce environments preferred.
• Strong knowledge of USGAAP with focus on inventory and COGS accounting.
• Hands‑on experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred) and financial reporting tools.
• Advanced analytical skills, with ability to interpret complex data and recommend actions.
• Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with visualization/analytics tools such as Tableau, Alteryx or Power

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills; capable of presenting findings to senior stakeholders.
• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Ability to build relationships across departments and collaborate toward shared goals.
• Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment with changing priorities.
