This is a full-time IT Support Engineer role based in Akron, OH. Candidates should be located in Northeast Ohio or Indianapolis, IN
, and available for on-site work in Akron and occasional client visits as needed.
This role combines day-to-day helpdesk ownership (Tier 1/2) with escalated technical support and project work (Tier 2/3). You will serve as a key escalation point while still being hands-on with support tasks across multiple client environments.
Responsibilities include:
- Owning and resolving helpdesk tickets (Tier 1/2) across users, devices, and applications
- Troubleshooting and resolving Tier 2/3 issues involving servers, networking, and Microsoft 365
- Supporting and maintaining:
- Windows environments and Active Directory
- Microsoft 365 tenants
- Backup systems (Veeam or similar)
- Assisting with projects, migrations, and infrastructure improvements
- Monitoring systems, applying updates/patches, and ensuring stability and security
- Documenting configurations, procedures, and client environments
- Collaborating with senior engineers on complex issues and escalations
- Participating in occasional after-hours maintenance, incident response, or project cutovers
- 3–7 years of IT experience (MSP experience strongly preferred)
- Strong experience with:
- Windows 10/11 and Windows Server
- Active Directory and Group Policy
- Microsoft 365 (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint basics)
- Experience with:
- Virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar)
- Backup solutions (Veeam or similar)
- Networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls)
- Ability to troubleshoot issues independently and take ownership through resolution
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Salary range: $40,000–$70,000 depending on experience
- Clear path to Senior Systems Engineer (Tier 3/4)
