As a Nursing Manager you would  plan, organise and manage the provision of nursing services including day care services, gentlemen residential services, outpatient services, and Young and Ladies wellness, ensuring alignment with care plans and objectives, to ensure that the highest level of quality care is maintained at all times.

Key Accountabilities Nursing Manager
Corporate Strategy
Develop and execute the department’s long-term strategic plan in alignment with Client’s corporate strategy.Develop annual business plans for the department to ensure the achievement of financial and strategic objectives.Support in the development of objectives and plans for the applicable cross-functional teams in order to ensure the achievement of patients’ objectives and service standards.Report to the Director – Clinical Operations on the progress of activities against the annual business plans, opportunities, challenges and issues faced, mitigations taken, etc. as required, to make an informed decision.Manage and continuously monitor the performance of the department to ensure performance deviations are identified in a timely manner, and required resources and actions are implemented to meet performance targets.

Manage the department performance by managing performance of direct and indirect reports (including applicable cross-functional teams), defining workforce requirements, recruiting, training and developing talent, in conjunction with the relevant stakeholders (i.e. Human Resources, Organisation Development, Talent Management), to ensure qualified and highly motivates staff to propel Client to achieve its objectives.

Organisation Structure
Recommend an optimum organisation structure/model for the department in coordination with the Clinical Directors, Clinical Operations, Organisation Development and Human Resource, to ensure that resources are optimally utilised and communication can take place in an efficient manner.

Budget Planning
Manage the preparation and provide input on the department's budget in alignment to the respective annual business plan.Monitor and report the department’s financial performance against the budget to ensure alignment with set budget guidelines, identify areas of unsatisfactory performance, and recommend performance improvement opportunities.

Culture Propagation
Participate in transmitting and propagating Client’s desired culture which revolves around enablement and empowerment of employees, and fostering creativity and innovation in order to motivate desired behaviour that supports Client in achieving its objectives and ensure patients’ best interests.

Clinical Excellence
Develop and seek approval on clinical policies and procedures, clinical protocols, case management, quality assurance programmes in coordination with the members from the MDT and relevant stakeholders as per the established clinical standards of care and care pathways.Develop on-going Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities for nursing services to monitor nursing compliance with standards and regulatory requirements through rounds, interviews, and record reviews.Prepare appropriate plans of actions to deal with any quality deficiencies or complaints.Ensure collaboration with physicians, MDT, consultants, community agencies, and institutions to improve the quality of services and to resolve identified problems.

Planning of services
Coordinate the delivery of nursing services in order to ensure the needs of Patients are met.Continuously monitor resource allocation to ensure that they are within planning parameters, and that services and programmes are delivered effectively and efficiently.Ensure collaboration with physicians to create a plan of care for Patients.Collaborate with other members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure that high-quality holistic care is provided to Patients.Oversee the utilisation of beds to ensure efficient management.Manage Patients care at the highest professional standards, using evidence-based care planning approach to ensure that the physical, psychological, social, spiritual and cultural needs of Patients and families are met.Plan the discharge processes and procedures, in order to ensure smooth and efficient execution.Meet Patients and their families as required, in order to better understand their needs, concerns and service requirements.Participate in all admission decisions in order to ensure eligibility of Patients for receiving care at Client.Facilitate communication with Patients, families, medical staff, nursing staff, MDT, and other departments and institutions to coordinate care services, to promote participation in care plans, and to maintain a high quality of care for Patients.Ensure the maintenance of a reference library of written material on nursing that will assist the department in meeting the day-to-day needs of the Patients.Ensure that nursing personnel have valid and up-to-date licenses in order to comply with state regulations.Oversee the monitoring of inventory levels of medications, medical supplies, equipment etc., to ensure their sufficient availability at Client premises at all times.Develop a preventive maintenance programme to keep the nursing department’s equipment and supplies in a safe and operable manner.Develop and implement procedures to ensure efficient use of nursing service supplies to avoid waste.Safeguard confidentiality of Patients’ care information.Manage Nursing Administration department.

Relationship Management and Partnerships
Support in building trusting relationships and partnerships with relevant institutions to create win-win solutions that enable exchange of support, knowledge and expertise and to improve the clinical care provided by Client.Promote a favourable image to all external stakeholders so that Client is viewed as a patient-focused, innovative and trusted institution

Medical Records
Ensure proper utilisation and adaptation to the management information system (iEMR) including accuracy, completeness and confidentiality of information in order to ensure appropriate follow-up and treatment of patients, effective circulation of information, improve efficiency and optimise the utilisation of resources.

Research and Education
Participate in and support Client’s research, education & knowledge management initiatives through the active international research and provision of nursing training programmes for nursing professionals in order to ensure compliance with best practices, and help Client become a leading healthcare provider.Oversee the teaching of other multidisciplinary team members, clinical and non-clinical staff, and others to promote understanding of evidence-based nursing practice to enhance the Patients experience.

Multi-disciplinary Team (MDT) Involvement
Support the multidisciplinary teams (MDT) meetings, discussions and activities including the defining of standards of care and care pathways as defined by the clinical/service line requirements in order to ensure patients centric care from a clinical, wellness and hospitality perspective as well as to support the organisation in providing the Patients with extensive range of professional treatment services.

Committee Involvement and Meetings
Attend relevant committee meetings and perform duties as described in the committee Terms of Reference (TOR) in order to ensure that the committee achieve its responsibilities and objectives.

Change Management
Manage (and act as a change agent) the identification and implementation of change initiatives on systems, processes and practices and proactively participating in required changes taking into account ‘international leading practice’, and changes in the business environment and evolvement of patients requirements.

Policies, System, Processes and Procedures
Manage the development and implementation of departmental and clinical policies, systems, processes and procedures, and continuously identify and recommend improvements to ensure compliance with Client’s standards and regulatory requirements, align to business requirements, and increase operational effectiveness.Oversee the medication administration and storage procedures in order to ensure the safety of Patients and staff.Develop processes and procedures for the use of equipment and supplies in order to ensure the safety of Patients and staff.

Management Reporting
Ensure that departmental and clinical reports are prepared in a comprehensive, accurate and timely manner, and meet business and departmental requirements and standards.Present regular and ad-hoc management reports on new opportunities, highlight critical issues and challenges, and provide strategic insight to ensure effective decision-making.

Position Requirements
Job Requirements of Nursing Manager
Bachelor degree in Nursing from an accredited university or equivalent professional Nursing qualification.
Up-to date CPD in relevant areas.
Excellent use of the English language and Arabic language
Licensed as a practicing Nurse.Postgraduate qualification in a relevant subject area.
10 years of experience in addiction treatment and mental health, including at least 3 years in positions of progressively increasing managerial responsibilities.
Knowledge and understanding of applicable laws and regulations.
Willingness to keep abreast of changing standards in nursing administration.
Expert knowledge of nursing as applied to the mental health field.
Demonstrable skills in the safe and therapeutic administration of medication.
Familiarity with budgeting principles and procedures.
Ability to accommodate change in the workplace.
Ability to motivate, develop and manage people as they work, and identify the best people for the job.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Extensive skill handling personnel from a multi-cultural work environment.
Basic IT skills and ability to use management information systems.
Decision making and problem solving skills.
