Position: UNIT DEPLOYMENT MANAGER with Security Clearance
Location: Eielson Air Force Base

Duties
* Plans, organizes, and oversees all unit level deployment activities. Configures and maintains functional Unit Type Codes (UTCs) as postured by MAJCOM FAMs (

Functional Area

Managers) using available unit assets.
* Performs analysis activities. Establishes metric and system analysis systems for unit and higher level management to assess the efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance with regulatory procedures.
* Provides technical guidance and recommendations to senior leadership regarding unit deployment program. Advises commander on the direction, management, and operation of all aspects of unit deployment capabilities.
* Ensures personnel and equipment readiness. Ensures the unit is ready to meet wartime and peacetime mobility taskings by scheduling and tracking unit deployment training. Requirements Conditions of employment

* Direct Deposit:
All federal employees are required to have direct deposit.
* Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period.
* Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest.
* The incumbent will be required to complete mandatory UDM training to include IDS/LOGMOD training, AEF Reporting Tool (ART) training, and Pallet Build-Up/Hazardous Cargo Preparation training.
* Required to obtain and maintain the Secret security clearance.
* Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft.
* IAW DoDI 3020-42 this position has been locally or command designated as Mission Essential (ME); needed to ensure the continued operation of mission essential functions of the activity.
* Mission Essential personnel may be required to report for duty at normal times when the base is closed or delayed reporting, and remain on duty during phased or early release.
* May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours. Incumbent may be required to work other than normal duty hours to include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. Shift work and emergency overtime may be required.
* This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing.
* Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.
* PCS paid by the Gaining Unit. Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions. SPECIALIZED

EXPERIENCE:

Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes facilitating personnel deployment or redeployment processing; utilizing evaluative techniques in the identification, consideration, and/or resolution of deployment issues of a procedural or factual nature; adapting analytical techniques and evaluation criteria to the measurement and improvement of the deployment program;

and preparing reports and briefings to managers regarding deployment operations. OR
