Java​/J2EE Developer; JDBC, JSP, Eclipse WebSphere

Job Overview

Trigyn's direct government client has an immediate need for a Java/J2EE Developer in Albany, NY.

The selected consultant will be a developer for the Tax Modernization effort and provide support for maintenance activities.

• Obtain business requirements to develop automated applications which meet business priorities.
• Provide programming duties for tax related applications.
• Develop and mentor staff using various technologies including J2EE, Spring, JSON, JavaScript and JDBC.
• Develop and review detailed documentation for system and program change requirement including detail specifications documents.
• Assist and provide guidance through all phases of the project management life cycle.
• Develop unit test plans based on coding changes and user specifications. Conduct unit testing and debugging of all code changes in the development environment.
• Coordinate the migration of all code changes (programs, procedures, etc.) from development environment into user test environment.
• Assist team members using distributed technologies including Java, DB2, XML and XQuery. Ensure that staff members are properly trained and mentored.
• Provide support, as needed, for defects and issue resolution. Ensure that defects and issues are addressed promptly based on priority.
• Facilitate and participate in meetings with ITS and customers.

• Involved with all facets of the software development process, including the research, design, programming, testing and implementation of computer software.
• Candidate is able to work independently, without assistance and provides guidance to others. May have an advanced education.
• 72 months of experience with J2EE technologies including JDBC, JSP and XML.
• 72 months of experience developing, building, and testing Java EE applications using modern IDE’s, such as Eclipse, Net Beans, or Intelli

• 72 months of experience using J2EE frameworks such as Spring or Struts and Application Servers such as Tomcat, JBoss, Web Sphere or Web Logic.
• 60 months of system analysis and design experience for multi-tiered transactional systems, and experience of writing technical design specification documents for multi-faceted component-based systems.
• 12 months of experience with a Government Taxation organization, which includes business knowledge, technical design, development, maintenance, and end user support of complex Tax Returns processing.
• 60 months of experience writing SQL statements for relational databases.
• 36 months of experience in messaging technologies, such as MQ, JMS, Kafka.
