First Article Inspector | Allendale, MI
Salary Range: $50,000 - $77,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity
We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in Allendale that are seeking skilled First Article Inspectors. These organizations are dedicated to maintaining high standards and are looking for professionals who can contribute effectively. Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with AS9102 standards.
- Interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure product conformance.
- Utilize a wide range of precision measuring equipment, including CMM, calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Document detailed inspection results, identifying and reporting non-conformances accurately.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to resolve discrepancies and improve manufacturing processes.
- Maintain and calibrate inspection tools and equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for quality issues.
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in a technical field preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in quality control or inspection within a manufacturing environment, with specific experience in First Article Inspection (FAI).
- Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Demonstrated ability to use a wide range of precision measuring tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM).
- Strong understanding of AS9102 FAI requirements and other relevant industry quality standards.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills for identifying and documenting non-conformances.
- Experience with GD&T software (e.g., Poly Works, Calypso)
- IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 certification
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification
- Proficiency in a CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, AutoCAD)
- Experience with CMM programming
