General Description:
Community Support Director shall provide services at the community center or at other designated locations.  For example, outreach may be accomplished at base picnics, the community center, the dining facility or other official functions.  

Specific Tasks:
• Follow the established procedures in AFI (Family Support Center Program), AFI (Air Force Relocation Assistance Program RAP) Family Services Policies and Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) guidelines.
• Provide Cultural Adaptation outings once a quarter and a minimum of one social event per month.  The purpose of the outings and social events is to assist newcomers and other community residents to culturally adapt to the local duty station environment through exposure to community personnel, language, shopping, public transportation systems, and other experiences. You shall conduct special programs such as summer reading program, storytelling hours, and activities in conjunction with all USAF programs, such as: children's book week, national library week, black history month, Hispanic-American month.
• Ensure local community information is available (maps, booklets, flyers, etc.).  You shall contact local tourist and city centers to gather literature and information.  Literature will cover aspects of daily life, travel, and cultural adaptation.
• Market and publicize programs by creating event flyers to display with the monthly recreation calendar.  Assist with publicity of programs to reach all facets of the military community.  Prepare displays, notices for bulletin boards, and lists of new materials.  The calendar should be published and disseminated to customers NLT the 1st of every month.
• Responsible for the Kleine Brogel Loan Locker.  You will maintain accountability of items in storage and those that have been loaned out.  Items available for loan will be advertised in the Community Support Center and other available networks (i.e., Kleine Brogel Facebook, Share point, etc.). Additionally, you will prepare and distribute overdue notices.
• Conduct a rolling inventory of the library collection.
• Maintain accountable books, leased books, videos, DVDs, CDs, cassettes, audio books, software, and periodicals as required by the USAFE Library Service Center.
• Maintain inventory levels of reading material in the reading room. Any excess inventories must be reported to the MSF Commander or Flight Chief prior to disposal.
• Check in and out books and other library materials and maintain related files. Prepare and distribute overdue and reserve notices and advise customers or reserves.  
• Provide reader services to all authorized customers.  You shall assist customers in using the book catalogs, CD-ROM resources, computer software applications and general reference works.
• Forward interlibrary loan requests for materials not available in the library to Ramstein AB Library. Call, e-mail, or fax requests for in depth reference searches to the USAFE Library Service Center.
• Provide library tours/orientations for groups of varying ages and interests as required.
• An inventory of the existing collections must be performed. You and a government representative shall conduct a joint inventory of the existing collections and you shall sign a receipt for all materials as identified in the shelf list.
• All work shall be accomplished in a professional manner.
• You shall not bring children to work.
Position Requirements
High School, 1 to 2 Years work experience
Qualifications and Experience Requirement:
• Should have a minimum of one (1) year experience in customer service.  
• Possess and maintain an International Driver’s Permit.
• Display comprehensive knowledge of the military lifestyle and structure.  
• Shall have basic administrative skills (word processing, establishing and effectively working budgets, completing and processing forms, and compiling statistical reports).
• Shall read, speak, write, and understand English sufficiently to clearly communicate with and instruct clients and colleagues.  
• Shall have a basic knowledge and understanding of library terminology and content.  
• Should have a minimum DEROS of 12 months (applies to military spouses only).
