Role DescriptionThe Assistant to the Director of Development is a full-time, on-site position based in Amarillo, TX. This role supports the Director of Development in implementing fundraising initiatives, donor relations activities, and community engagement efforts. Daily responsibilities include managing calendars, scheduling meetings, maintaining development databases and records, preparing correspondence and reports, and assisting with event coordination and follow-up. The assistant will handle incoming calls and inquiries, help organize mailings and communication to donors and families, and provide general clerical support to ensure efficient operation of the Development Office.
This role collaborates closely with school leadership, faculty, and external stakeholders and upholds the Academy’s mission and values in all interactions.
- Strong administrative and clerical skills, with the ability to manage documents, records, and office workflows efficiently.
- Experience providing Executive Administrative Assistance, including calendar management, meeting coordination, and preparing presentations or reports for leadership.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to draft professional correspondence and interact effectively with donors, families, and colleagues.
- Professional phone etiquette, including handling calls, taking detailed messages, and providing courteous, accurate information.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with attention to detail and capacity to prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Proficiency with office software (e.g., email, word processing, spreadsheets) and comfort learning donor or database systems.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and maintain confidentiality with sensitive information.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in business, communications, or a related field is preferred.
