What You’ll DoAs a project engineer, you will manage complex, multi‑discipline digital engineering implementations, supporting a specific Weapon Program or a portfolio of programs. You will lead projects, ensuring engineering performance meets scope, budget and schedule, approve deliverables, and integrate technical requirements into the program at the appropriate phase. Your responsibilities include applying Systems Engineering and Business Process Architecture concepts to develop solutions across cross‑functional teams, transforming paper‑based processes to electronic workflows, strengthening configuration management, leveraging data‑driven solutions to improve data sharing, and driving system health monitoring across the nuclear weapons complex.
MinimumJob Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or science discipline with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
- or Master’s degree in engineering or science discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
- or PhD degree in engineering or science discipline with no experience
- or applicants without a bachelor’s degree may be considered based on a combination of at least 12 years of completed education and/or relevant experience
Job Requirements
- Graduated from an ABET‑accredited engineering program or an equivalent recognized by ABET
- Minimum GPA preferences (confirm at time of offer):
- Bachelor’s: 3.0/4.0
- Master’s: 3.3/4.0
- PhD: 3.5/4.0
- Extensive technical expertise and full knowledge of engineering systems, applications of engineering methods, and computer‑based engineering
- Knowledge of industry and regulatory standards relevant to engineering disciplines
- Strong presentation, technical review, and written communication skills
- Solid background in Computer Science and IT Architecture
- Experience applying Systems Engineering principles and leading multidisciplinary teams
- Experience gathering requirements, developing project plans, budgets, and managing project risks
- Familiarity with human factors, configuration management, database solutions, data management, product life cycle management, system reliability, electronic procedures, and human interfaces
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Desire to learn new concepts and implement process improvements with minimal disruption

Requires a Q clearance; eligibility is considered regardless of current clearance status, and the ability to obtain and maintain an DOE Q clearance is required.
Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required, a counterintelligence‑scope polygraph and medical requirements may apply.
